Das lässt natürlich auch Seb Breuers Ausscheiden aus der diesjährigen Tour Divide in nem noch ganz anderen Licht erscheinen. Wenn man als Hersteller meint alle 20h soll ein Profi die Schrauben anziehen und alle 200h der Steursatz ausgebaut werden, dann aber gleichzeitig Leute sponsert die damit ein 4400km Ultra fahren. 🤯
Wer startet eigentlich dieses Jahr beim Taurus Mountain Race (14. bis 24. Oktober) #tmr2026 oder #tmrno1 ?
Soweit ich das über Podcasts mitbekommen hat startet Robin #Gemperle, Gewinner des diesjährigen #tcrno12 und Victor #Bossoni, Gewinner des #tcrno11 sowie des #amr2026 .
Beide haben auch neue Streckentekorde letztes bzw. dieses Jahr bei der #tourdivide aufgestellt. Sie sind bei einigen "kürzeren" Rennen in diesem Jahr aufeinander getroffen aber das Taurus Mountain Race wird das erste lange Rennen bei denen die beiden konkurrieren.

One US-American in top ten of Tour Divide right now. And he's literally in 10th place. The top 5 are all Europeans (all already finished). The others are from Ecuador, 2x Canada, and Israel. 😮

Victor Bosoni impone nuevo récord, 11 días, 8 horas, y 37 minutos.
La mayoría todavía se encuentra en Colorado y solo quedan 95 corredores delante de la barredora y cada vez habrá menos.
Meaghan Hackinen podría imponer nuevo récord femenil pasado mañana.
El ecuatoriano Xavier Chiriboga rueda en cuarto lugar, aunque ha reportado problemas con una pierna.
Felix Laberge sigue de puntero single-speed y podría también imponer récord de esa categoría

PS: Not quite sure what's Victor's correct time. Trackleaders shows a little more for the race timer itself, but I think they started in waves, and above time is the sum of what Trackleaders shows as his stopping time and moving time. 🤔

Tour Divide día 11
El “Broom Wagon” (barredora) ya está en el mapa, y mas de una tercera parte de lo corredores quedaron detrás. Ahora ya no se consideran corredores sino tourers (paseantes). Ya no cuenta para la carrera, solo es paseo individual. Para acabar antes de la barredora hay que terminar antes de 27-28 días para hombres 30-31 días para damas. Recordemos que son 4,346 km, 145 km por día por treinta días.
Los punteros están ahora en New Mexico, solo una subida grande mas y el resto es de “bajada”, en el desierto, a mitad del verano. Todavía faltas bastantes de cruzar a Wyoming y quienes no lo crucen pronto se encontrarán detrás de la barredora. Victor Bosoni podría imponer récord esta noche.
Delante de la barredora quedan menos de 100 ciclistas.
Al momento solo 34 ciclistas están en rango para terminar la carrera en 20 días o menos.

Enjoying #tourdivide 2026 dot watching. As it stands records could fall in the men’s, women’s and single-speed categories. I believe the leaders have had good tailwinds.
I rode in 2011 and remember day after day of headwind. I am on the right of this photo at the start.
As everyone of the 7 fastest riders went through Brush Mountain Lodge, one also can see the bikes they're riding from their pictures. Looks like 3 of the 7 are riding flat bars (with aerobars obviously). Angus (3rd) and Felix (7th) on a hardtail. Laurens (2nd) on a full suspension.
I guess that means that you don't need drop bars for going this far. Assuming that you can make the position work. You probably also don't need gears, Felix can do without...
Xavier "the Farmer" definitely wins the fashion award of Tour Divide 2026.

Victor Bosoni y Meaghan Hackinen deben andar bien dopados, siguen rodando delante de sus respectivos récords (Victor del récord de Robin Gemperle y Meaghan del récord propio, de nuevo con cuento los récords de TT).
Quedan menos de 170 corredores, y quienes no lleguen a por lo menos Butte hoy (1,146 km) difícilmente acabaran en menos de 30 días.
Gisele Nepolello es la única dama en rodar con single-speed y lleva más de 1,020 km recorridos.
Rachel Pageau que lleva un poco mas de 1,286 km, lleva a su perro “Cashew”.

#TourDivide update. Nach dem Wechsel auf Party Pace ist Alex McCormack (lange in der Verfolgergruppe ganz vorn) jetzt leider gescratcht.
Bosoni inzwischen als einziger tief in Colorado, mit mehr als 200 Meilen Vorsprung, auch mehr als 50 Meilen vor dem virtuellen Dot des Vorjahressiegers Robin Gemperle.
What's also confusing about the huge amount of "former record" dots is that Meaghan Hackinen is way closer to Mike Hall's record ride than to her own existing grand depart record. And they are both shown as "MH" on Trackleaders. 🙃

The top riders are definitely far ahead right now. Both compared to the records (Victor just a little, Meaghan a little more), but also compared to their chasers. Victor has 110 miles on Alex McCormak, Meaghan even 150 miles on Karin Pocock.
Now they put in even more record dots than last time, where they separated the grand depart women's record from the overall women's record to cover up their own transphobia.
I mean, having Robin's and Justina's time both in there kind of makes sense. Also it's nice to compare Meaghan to her time 2 years ago. But now also Mike Hall? And Lael? Where does this end?

Dazu kommt, dass Victor schon 4:19h stopping time hatte (schlaf sicher!), 20min später gestartet ist (wohl nicht in der ersten Welle) während Alex ganze 10min stopping time hat.

Seb Breuer scratches from Tour Divide after he destroyed his bike's seatstay. Very same situation (place and model - Rose PDQ) that lead to Rick Steffen scratching from Hellenic Mountain Race a couple of weeks earlier. Both are taking the blame on themselves, saying they banged the bike against rocks etc.. Still, this might fuel the techies, and their frame material discussion. 🙃
Im Ultrascape Podcast wurde spekuliert, Lachlan Morton würde bei der #TourDivide starten. Das wäre natürlich der Knaller schlechthin und da man direkt zum Start erst zuverlässig sieht, wer da ist (sehr spät melden geht wohl), durchaus möglich.

Die drei Favoriten Robin Gemperle #srmr2025cap165 , Alex McCormack #srmr2025cap8 und Anatole Naimi #srmr2025cap10 führen nach ca. 44 Stunden im Rennen das Feld mit gutem Abstand an!
Alex McCormack #srmr2025cap8 hat dieses Jahr bereits das Atlas Mountain Race und das Helenic Mountain Race gewonnen. Beim Atlas Mountain Race war er 15 min schneller als Robin Gemperle #srmr2025cap165 bei seinem Sieg 2023. Allerdings scheint Robin dieses Jahr in einer noch besseren Verfassung zu sein wie sein phänomenaler Sieg bei der #tourdivide eindrucksvol zeigt.
Anatole Naimi #srmr2025cap10 hatte Alex McCormack #srmr2025cap8 beim Helenic Mountain Race den zweiten Platz geholt und war bis zum Ende sehr nah am Sieger Alex McCormack #srmr2025cap8 dran.
Drei Top-Atheleten in sehr guter Form! Ich bin gespannt, wie sich die drei in #Kirgistan schlagen. Die Höhenprofile mit Bergen jenseites der 4.000 Metern Höhe sind dann doch nochmal eine eigene Liga! #dotwatching
