  2. VitaLink keyboard has a 13 inch 4K touchscreen display, speakers, and RGB backlit keys (crowdfunding)

Over the past year or two we’ve seen several crowdfunding campaigns for a weird category of devices: keyboards with built-in displays and clamshell designs that basically make them look like tiny laptops.

The latest example? The VitaLink keyboard has a 13 inch, 4K touchscreen display and an RGB backlit keys. What makes this model a little different than some others is the front-facing stereo […]

  5. 😉 Just saying: It's great that nowadays you can write on the #Internet that you don't believe in #science on a palm-sized #mini #highperformance #computer with nano-coated #glass, #touchscreen and #lithium #ion #battery. #Facts #Technology 💙 @[email protected] @[email protected] 💚

#Facts #Technology

  7. Nearly a year later, I find myself going back to this post and adding its settings to get a sane #scrollbar on #Firefox.

It's annoying that despite Mozilla dropping Motif for GTK+ in their browser back when they open-sourced their browser, they still didn't consider maybe using the native UI widgets that GTK+ provided?

My chosen GTK+ emulates a nice retro OS/2 theme, which is actually rather quite usable on a #tablet #touchscreen. It's not the classical Motif UI of historical Unix, but it's usable. Another good choice would be the classic MacOS UI… or maybe 90s era Windows. Make those a little beefier on a touchscreen and you'd have quite a usable UI for both desktops and touchscreens.

But… Firefox and Chromium UI devs know better apparently.

  10. I never thought I would miss a on my .

My travel is a . When I come back home, I often want to switch tabs or press "OK" or some other mundane thing, without doing the keyboard shortcut. But my main laptop doesn't have a screen!

It's not a big thing, but it does mean that the modern trend of touch screens actually makes computers easier!

Although the trend to remove separate mouse buttons doesn't. I'll die on that hill.

  11. #X11 question: how do I disable the outside perimeter of a #touchscreen

You know when handling a laptop on the edges? Ooops, there goes the cursor, it's in the next town, somewhere in a drainage ditch, where did it go...
