I was bored, so #LineageOS happened. Which forced… gave me the opportunity to rethink some apps. A couple of highlights.

I returned to #GhostCommander, which wasn’t working well with older Androids (remember the Great SD Card Disaster?). It looks and behaves like an open-source version of #TotalCommander. If you don’t need SMB 1 support like I do, you should probably check out #MaterialFiles instead, It looks better.

Just tried #Aptoide store.
Zero confidence in it now.

Just tried downloading #TotalCommander from aptoide.
The displayed version 9999.9999.999.999 gave a loop of advertising pop-ups.
From "apps" store.

No longer confident wtf aptoide screens apps for.

I wouldn't use apps downloaded from aptoide on any device with my banking details on it.

(Other version are to be found behind the "Other versions" button.)

EDIT: Rechecked, date on that version has changed to 2025.
Confidence now zero.

Nemůžu si pomoct, ale příjde mi, že starší software resp. software navržený v dobách dřívějších je minimálně na Windows prostě efektivnější.

Na služební notebook s relativně čerstvou instalací Windows 11 už jsem si stihnul stáhnout XnView, protože defaultní "Fotky" se prostě nedaly. Dlouho startují a navíc nic neumí...

Dneska jsem si pro změnu stáhnul třeba takový DoubleCommander.

@botteur #OneCommander a quasi la même tête, c'est du "x" volets. J'ai déjà tenté l'aventure car je vois facilement les limites des explorer de #win10 et #win11 mais je cherche des use cases concrets pour ne pas me sentir perdu/surchargé d'informations dès que je le lance. Je pense que quelqu'un comme toi ferait la transition vachement plus facilement vu que tu utilises #TotalCommander depuis autant d'années :)
