🧵 (2/2) I tried to sue the hospital, but a 2004 #Texas #TortReform law (pushed by Gov Rick Perry and approved by TxSC Justice #GregAbbott) made it impossible.
When she passed away 9 months later, I ordered an autopsy.
The autopsy revealed SHE NEVER HAD CANCER! 🤬
I tried again to sue, this time for #WrongfulDeath, and again, Texas' #Medical #Tort #Reform law made it impossible.
To this day, no one has ever been held responsible for her death. #RIPMom

@mtsw @MadMadMadMadRN Check tort reform that limits pay outs for medical malpractice to $250k in many states unless wrongful death can be proven. Hint: misdiagnosed cancer isn’t considered wrongful death in #kansas if the cancer would’ve been terminal anyway.
