When we adopted an 11 year old cat with 7 chronic illnesses, we thought ‘she doesn’t have long, let’s just spoil her rotten’
Turns out spoiling her rotten meant she lived another 8.5 years. She was with us until she was 19 and a half
Here’s a photo of her getting sashimi that I bought just for her.
I miss her every single day

Every time I cook salmon, I think of how much I miss Mila yelling at me for salmon
I hope there’s unlimited salmon wherever you are baby

We said goodbye to Mila back in Jan but I feel like it’s hitting me hard now (in June).
Partly we always said that when she passes
We can do whatever we want, like go to Mexico any time we want for tacos
We just did that and came back and
I would rather have Mila!!

I wake up at 6am most mornings expecting to be sat on by a 17 lb cat.
It’s been 5 months. I still miss her.

I went to pay my respects to Aiko

I asked the person who found her in a Walmart parking lot how she managed to trap her. (She’s very feisty)
She said she opened a can of food and Mila ran into the container immediately.
She could beg for food even while upside down

Someone asked if everyone’s tortoiseshell cats were also gluttonous heathens
I replied that I was convinced Mila lived till 19.5 years because she wasn’t done eating. She loved everything. Arugula. Spinach. All proteins. Potato. She would fight you for bread, get her head stuck in a yogurt container if she could. I miss her face.
On the day we said goodbye to her, she ate nonstop all day until it was time to go.

Saw tortie cat curled on bed sleeping, so lay down next to her, petted her for a bit, then fell asleep with her for a half hour.
