  8. Let the fun and wx games begin. I wought it might happen, but figured that tornado watches were going to be further east ... I'm sure they will but further east, but Memphis is on the watch list now. VA, you get it tomorrow. We'll beta test the airmass for yaall. #tnwx #tornadowatch

  9. #Tornado season just hit #Oklahoma early and right here we just went under a #TornadoWatch ... up near the Great Salt Plains there was a no-hook-signature mezzocyclone on radar between Jet and Nash and instantly it turned into a quarter-mile-wide wedge tornado.
    Are we having fun yet?
  10. Dec. 28, 2025 - 3-3:30 pm:
    We have a tornado watch.
Tornadoes have been sighted southwest of where we are. System moving toward us.

For the past half hour I've been watching weather coverage. Thus far two tornadoes officially confirmed.

Storm nearing. Winds gusting to 55 mph.
    Go bags are ready.

Never had to do this in late December.

  16. Big March storm fans #wildfires and flips trucks as forecasters fear weekend #tornado outbreak

By RUSS BYNUM and SEAN MURPHY
    Updated 9:02 PM EDT, March 14, 2025

    "Tornadoes likely amid storm outbreak

"The Storm Prediction Center said fast-moving storms could spawn twisters and hail as large as baseballs Friday, but the greatest threat would come from straight-line winds near or exceeding hurricane force, with gusts of 100 mph (160 kph) possible.

"A #TornadoWatch was issued until 11 p.m. for central and eastern #Missouri, including St. Louis, as well as parts of #Illinois and #Arkansas.

"The National Weather Service said it observed an evening tornado in the south-central Missouri city of #Grovespring.

"Other areas at risk included parts of #Iowa, #Kentucky, #Tennessee and #Mississippi.

"About 47 million people faced an enhanced to moderate severe storm threat from Madison, #Wisconsin, to Birmingham, #Alabama.

"Forecasters grew increasingly worried that intense thunderstorms farther south will likely bring an even greater tornado threat Saturday.

"The Storm Prediction Center said parts of #Mississippi including Jackson and Hattiesburg and areas of #Alabama including Birmingham and Tuscaloosa will be at a high risk. Severe storms and tornadoes are also possible across eastern #Louisiana, western #Georgia, central #Tennessee and the western #Florida Panhandle.

"'We have a lot of confidence that we most likely will have a tornado outbreak tomorrow,' Storm Prediction Center meteorologist Evan Bentley said in an online briefing."

  23. Heard end of #KWTV #News9 #weather report.

First #TornadoWatch of the day, extending from the Texas state line all the way to Tulsa all across Oklahoma.

#KOCO reports this watch extends through 11pm.

KOCO also reports a #FloodWatch through central Oklahoma until 7am tomorrow.

    My main advice:

    1. DON'T drive through water more than 4" deep
    2. Go to:
    --location with tornado shelter
--location with centrally built closet or room with no windows
    3. Charge your phone

    If a tornado watch or

    for your area:
    🌪 🌪 🌪 🌪

Make sure that you have HARD-SOLED SHOES 👞 AND A HELMET 🪖 OF SORT on you in your shelter.

Most tornado-related injuries are to the head DURING the tornado, and from walking through the debris AFTER.

    Pass it along, please.
