I spent 6 hours 7 minutes at a local reserve today -- Bowling Green Marsh. As much enjoyment from this as travelling to see a 'special' bird.
Highlights 4 x Spoonbill (with sticks! (I don't think I've seen this behaviour before)), Common & Green Sandpiper, Cattle & Little Egret. 34 species in total.

A wonderful rehearsal this evening for our production of Romeo & Juliet. The public show tour launches at Brixham Theatre on June 14th. / Wednesday evening rehearsals at the moment are all about fine-tuning scenes then full show runs on Sundays. We were also delighted to welcome Iz, a lovely lady doing her PhD in the accessibility of theatre technology, who is using our production as one of her case studies.

Onto Bowling Green Marsh, #Topsham where 2 Spotted Redshank and a Long-billed Dowitcher were the highlights from a crowded hide.
At Haldon Visitors Centre, these Crossbill were good to see.

I met up with a couple of friends for some high tide birding at Bowling Green Marsh reserve (and then some lunch). It was fairly quiet with high water levels (the RSPB seem to be having trouble fixing some sluice gates) but these two immature Spoonbill flew in to roost.

A decidedly wet morning with a chill wind led to me to hunker down in the hide at Bowling Green Marsh for high tide. Plenty of species - Redshank, Greenshank, Bar and Black-tailed Godwit, Ruff, Knot, Shoveler, Pintail, Gadwall, Teal, Avocet, Greylag Goose. The Peregrine flying through caused mayhem!
