    The USAnian government (read: White House) has ordered the CIA to conduct clandestine operations in Venezuela. There's only one possible object: "regime change", which used to be known as toppling a foreign government, or fomenting a coup. The CIA has a long history of these attempts, though they aren't actually very good at it. They tend to either fail, or produce huge unexpected negative consequences [1].

    Of course this is illegal under international law. That generally has no effect on USAnian actions.

    But when any other country is found to have even the slightest influence operation going on in the USA [2], the chickenhawks in Congress start baying for blood [3]. Hypocrisy much?
