I made this linocut when my son lost his first tooth. I made him (and several other small children) little tooth fairy shaped pockets in which to hide their teeth to exchange them for cash. Trading bones for money with supernatural creatures. Perfectly normal stuff.

11 days ago Senator Joni Ernst posted an insincere walk-back on YouTube of her previous statement that “we are all going to die.” She #accused her audience of believing that humans will never face death. That is not the issue. The issue is her disregard for the well-being of all US residents and her disrespect for those who care about the #poor and the #needy.

There is a big difference between dying a natural death and dying because you had no access to healthcare. These two situations are not equal. Ernst went on to compare concerns about bare minimum healthcare #Medicaid and value of a human life to believing in the #ToothFairy. Ernst’s true #cynical, disrespectful convictions were even more emphasized by her recommendation to believe in ‘her [supposed] Lord and savior, Jesus Christ’. Her attitude could not be more different from the historic Jesus in her disregard for the needy.

I was on the other side of the #IronCurtain and never remember the #ToothFairy ever visiting a #Communist nation to give out money for teeth.

Child A's first wobbly tooth fell out yesterday at nursery, and they didn't even notice! We only spotted the gap in the evening when I was helping them brush their teeth. They were very upset they couldn't leave anything for the #toothfairy , or get a coin for it. But don't worry, #German paperwork to the rescue. I created a mini 'lost tooth' form that we've filled out and put under the pillow instead, I'm sure it'll work out 😉
