I was brushing my #teeth this morning, looking in the mirror, and suddenly saw him.
The eternal poser.
The little self still arranging the face, checking the #expression, preparing for an #audience that was not even there.
Just old machinery.
Self for self, performing to a dreamed-up #crowd
And all I could give him was:
“Oh, there you are.”
Then I carried on #breathing and brushing my #teeth.
The #toothbrush was real enough.
The #mirror was real enough.
But the #spell in the mirror had already lost its #lustre.

My #toothbrush tells me, I should brush for 2 minutes. Being of normal hygiene, I brush mornings and evenings. In a year, that's 365 * 4 minutes = 24 hours and 20 minutes. That's an annual #productivity loss of €3650 assuming an hourly rate of €150.
If we multiply the productivity loss of brushing by the world population (8266M) minus the British (70M), we get an annual global productivity loss of €29.9T
Simultaneously, the #Stargate Project aims to spend $500B over 4 years to build more #OpenAI data centers. That's €106B/year.
If we could just all stop brushing our teeth, we could #accelerate spam production by no less than 282 years every year! Something worth thinking about before embarking on that minty evening ritual. -

Time to share this again because my life’s time is running out, I may have a year or two left but could just as well drop any day. Therefore I need to spread this far and wide, as I am a victim of this #barbaric #malpractice of #circumcision, of male #genital_mutilation.
I was circumcised shortly before my 6th birthday – I FKN REMEMBER HOW MUCH MORE SENSITIVE I WAS “DOWN THERE” before they did it to me, what extremely joyous, “electric”, feelings I had when I touched my glans and played with my foreskin, feelings that ran through my whole body from there.
In my twenties already there was NOTHING of that sensitivity anymore, you could press a #toothbrush against my glans and I’d not even know what was happening there unless I’d LOOK, I am so numb there that I only have very vague feeling of pressure there, and temperature, but nothing erogenous, no joyous feelings anymore.

#enshittification with #oralb brush heads: the "new & improved" ones are visibly damaged after two weeks of normal use (see photo), despite being supposed to last up to 3 months (the old model did most of the time!).

Yesterday I watched the #MythBusters where they were testing if your #toothbrush in the #bathroom catches fecal cauliform (aerosolized poop).
They had toothbrushes at different distances from the #toilet and two toothbrushes not in the bathroom. For a month.
They took the samples to a university and were quite surprised that everything had poop even the ones that weren't in the bathroom.
And now you can try to not think about that. 😜

Oh man, I have this #Xiaomi #T700 #smart #ultrasonic #toothbrush for more than a year I guess and I never scored higher than 91 points. I did notice that at some points it stops oscillating for a split second but never really thought why.
This week I stumbled upon a note that you should brush your teeth in quadrants. Boom 🤯. Turns out it stopped after 30 seconds so that I knew that it’s time to switch to the e next quadrant. Today I scored 95 and the brush displayed a crown 👑 😂
