I bought Gary Grigsby's War in the East and War in the West on sale on steam. The learning curve is a little daunting, but I am kind of - kind of - getting the hang of it a bit. At least the shorter scenarios.
It's a rare game that you can play very simply and quickly, or deeply and carefully, but WitE sits on that sweet spot.
