#thailand #krabi - the limestone sand beaches look picturesque and there are no shortage of tourists cosplaying for their Social Media feeds. But I spent the day in a #kayak going to all the areas marked on nautical maps as coral. Nothing nada, completely dead. Evidence of dead cushion and basket corals but no more than a handful of #reef fish spotted anywhere. #tonsai at least at a few resident sea cucumbers left. I put my head underwater a few times near most coral-ish looking areas. No sounds (healthy reefs have audible crackle) :(
