They must be seriously misled...Tom Jobim's samba AND bossa were *already* slow, and based on a beat.

#OTD 1927, musician, composer and #BossaNova legend Antônio Carlos «Tom» Jobim was born.
He's famous for songs like «Girl from Ipanema», «Águas de Março», and «Corcovado» but few people know his later work, which is very symphonic and inspired by the nature of his country. Here's my favourite song of his, «Matita Perê» (1973).
