Alright! Now that we climbed around the roofs of London, broke into an “underground industrial area” (I'm still convinced that is a nuclear power plant—don't @ me), and eventually bonked an enemy in a creative new way, we're done with today's stream. Sadly, I also need to increment the “levels I would probably not have managed to clear without the walkthrough” counter by 1, because I completely missed a crawlspace in an area I considered double-checked. The other times, I would most likely have managed to find a way eventually.

Well, it ended up being both a delayed and a rather short stream, because despite how well the first boss fight went, this one was... rather troublesome. As in: The boss insta-gibs you. So that was a bit of a struggle to figure out.

But hey, that means we can continue the trend of one map per stream which, frankly, is about my limit nowadays. No idea why, but my energy reserves for streaming are quite exhausted after roughly 2 hours by now. Let's hope I can get back to longer streams at some point down the line.

Well, but with the assistance from the walkthrough, I did clear the level in the end. Funnily enough, I keep talking about needing to challenge my own assumptions about the game, but then end up succumbing to my assumptions about the game anyway. Just like the “I need to save more often” thing, now that I think about it :blobcatGoogly:

Next time, we're up against the boss of the South Pacific area. Let's see if they are/it is just as much of a pushover as the first :clueless:

Well, we did find the troop carrier aircraft surprisingly quickly. However, it turns out Polynesia the South Pacific is not only home to hostile natives, but also non-avian dinosaurs that the Chicxulub asteroid forgot—quelle surprise.

Now that we have finished what the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event didn't, we're off to one more actual content map before we head to what is most probably going to be a boss fight. After that, we're back to the world map and can decide to go to London or Nevada.

Whew! Didn't just clear one, not two, but three levels today! Well, granted, the first two were kind of short.

In the first level, we basically just followed the river Ganges using the quad bike and, uh, took care of some animals on the way.

After reaching the end of the river, we entered the Caves of Kaliya, which turned out to be some sort of maze with a... temple room of sorts at the end. That's where the weird fellow from before waited for us. Turned the water into fire water and then started chucking fireballs around. Surprisingly, that fight barely gave me any trouble.

And then, finally, we did the thing that British people always do :tone_hyperbole: and invaded some natives in Polynesia. They appear to have taken some soldier boy prisoner after gnawing (?) off his right leg below the knee. Now we're off to find his buddies as well as the troop carrier that crashed in the vicinity of the natives' village. At least Lara isn't the only one invading the natives any more.

Someone should definitely stop Lara, though.

Apparently, the weird character we met at the end of the Jungle level is now so openly hostile that Lara just shoots at him when she sees him go down the river Ganges on an improvised raft? Okay? Is Lara's urge to kill everything that moves expanding to humans now, too? Should I be concerned? :blobcatScared:

Anyway, we cleared the Jungle Temple today. A bit longer-winded than I had expected it would be, but still cleared it.

First (probably introductory) level cleared! Nice! I must say, I'm liking a lot of the changes introduced by the new instalment, like the additional visual effects, or extended movement (which was partially available in the previous games, too, thanks to TRX).

We're still attacked by every animal along our way. Knowing Lara's background with animals, though, I would probably do the same if I was an animal.

At the end, we found another living (maybe now dead?) person who told us not to enter the jungle temple because we were going to die. I mean, he's not wrong, because I am going to die in this game a lot more than just the three times today, but… Chances are that he was either on all the drugs, quite possibly also expired, or drowned himself in alcohol. So, well, let's see if he was right next time. Because we have already entered said temple :blobcatGooglyFine:

I found a pretty funny bug in Tomb Raider 3 Remastered. Lara drowns at the top of the waterfall, and then her corpse screams as she goes over the falls. 🤣
