At least one of them has an ethernet (AUI/coax - pictured) MCA board but most were just #TokenRing. Here's the MAU (think of it as a Token Ring equivalent to an ethernet hub) that they used to talk to one another.
Random fact: I bought a second hand HP LaserJet 4 at one point and it had a token ring adapter in it which was a bit unexpected! For the historians interested, five are 9595-S20 (with the Pentium, I didn't manage to get the 90MHz S06), one V01 and one V02.

Happy Birthday, #Ethernet!
Man, this article took me down memory lane lol. My networking days started with #10Base2, T-connectors, #ISA NICs, #tokenring topologies, and #Novell's IPX/SPX! #Thicknet was already old tech when I got into it in the mid to late 1980's. But I did learn about it at my local library! I wasn't even 10 yet!
Can you even imagine what a #terabit looks like? My past self wouldn't have even thought that was possible in his lifetime lol.
Thank you Bob Metcalfe! Our world literally would not be what it is without your invention.

Das Teil habe ich auch schon lange nicht mehr gesehen.
Zuletzt, glaube ich, in den 90er bei der Lufthansa ;-) -

My first, and maybe most notable, contribution to Wikipedia was the creation of [IBM] Token Ring page in October 2001. Some remnants of the original text surprisingly survive to this day: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=IBM_Token_ring&oldid=351771239
For those who only ever heard about it, that tech was just about dead even at the time of writing. :-)

TIL: The IEEE 802.5 standard for Token Ring networking is expected to be replaced by a new 802.25 Tolkien Ring protocol. The proposed standard is expected to be approved by the next working group meeting, to be held in October in Minas Morgul.

3com 3server (1985)
#silicium collection

@kalleboo Are there any TokenTalk members?
Just-for-the-lulz, of course, as Apple's implementation of Token Ring is, unfortunately, slower than Ethernet, according to exhaustive tests of a colleague of mine, PoC.

Does anyone have a spare Bay Networks Centillion C100 switch for us?
We’d like to use it to “switch” TokenRing to Fast Ethernet. Currently, we‘re routing it, but …

"…the #Cybertruck cranks things up a notch, with a radically new wiring harness that Tesla calls #Etherloop. This consists of a single continuous gigabit Ethernet cable that loops around the interior of the Cybertruck. Remember #TokenRing? It connects to 368 endpoints & reduces cross-vehicle wiring by 68%. Data is time-sliced and latency is just 0.5ms. If the loop is cut, data goes other way around."
