Reading about #TOI1853b and it's rather extraordinary density (9.7 g/cm3 --- or roughly that of Bismuth), I'm curious about:
What it might be made of. (I'm suspecting a high lead or thorium content, both fairly common dense elements, though mercury (the element, not the planet) or tungston would raise some interesting possibilities).
How much its overall mass (73 Earths) would affect pressures in its core, and how much solid matter would then be compressed. From what I've gathered, NiFe in Earth's core has roughly twice the density it does at the surface.
How it got that way.
How astronomers might deduce its constitution, and how the planet's mass and density are arrived at.
Any #Astronomy #exoplanets or #astrophysics experts know any of this?
Pinging @johncarlosbaez who knows a bit about physics 😺

Two possible pathways for the formation of TOI-1853 b, an exoplanet found in the middle of the Neptunian desert asking for a scenario of its formation and evolution.
