Quel rilievo non è casuale: è il profilo del Cervino. Un dettaglio che non salta subito all'occhio, tra gli scaffali; ed è proprio questo il bello.Non c'è una scritta che urla "GUARDA IL CERVINOOO!".
Nessuna campagna aggressiva, niente.
Solo un piccolo elemento di #design che trasforma un oggetto usa e getta (plastica riciclata al 100%) in qualcosa che racconta il territorio da cui proviene."Valais Matterhorn Region" è un brand registrato (qui: https://trademarks.justia.com/792/11/valais-matterhorn-79211148.html) e la stessa società Valais ha certificato le sue acque (qui: https://www.valais.ch/en/valais-brand/valais-brand-label/certified-products/water).
Il Cervino (Matterhorn) è alto 4.478 metri, si trova sul confine tra Svizzera (Canton Vallese) e Italia (Valle d'Aosta) ed è la montagna che ha ispirato il celebre logo del cioccoalto #Toblerone.
In Svizzera succede spesso, ma l'identità elvetica non viene semplicemente appiccicata sopra un prodotto: viene progettata _dentro_ il prodotto. Il #marketing non interrompe l'esperienza, ne diventa parte.
È una lezione preziosa anche per i brand, perché le persone dimenticano facilmente uno slogan, ma ricordano un dettaglio scoperto quasi per caso. Quel momento in cui pensano: "Aspetta... ma questa cosa è geniale!"

Conspicuous consumption
In my impecunious youth a Toblerone was worth a (very occasional) purchase. But 4.5kg of adequate but generally indifferent chocolate?
Seen while shopping this afternoon. I say conspicuous because this is not something you are going to smuggle in in your back pocket.

In my definition, #chocolate starts at 70%, and dark is 85% or above. So I understand #Toblerone are removing the bar containing actual chocolate. American company #Mondelez International, a producer of chocolate and cookies including #Oreo, #Milka, #Toblerone, #Barny, and #Tuc, has decided not to disclose the financial statements of its Russian business for 2023, a move also adopted by #Nestle and #Mars.
For example, the company sold 9,800 tons of Milka chocolate in #Russia in just the first quarter of 2024 — six times more than projected for the same period.
