Из Oracle в PostgreSQL одним INSERT: DuckDB как ETL без Oracle-клиента

Когда говорят о DuckDB, обычно вспоминают аналитику: локальные запросы к Parquet, быстрые агрегации, ноутбуки. Но у него есть свойство, к аналитике отношения не имеющее: он умеет соединять источник и приёмник данных внутри одного SQL-плана. С расширениями для Oracle и PostgreSQL перенос данных сводится к одному запросу — без Instant Client, без OCI, без Python и без промежуточных файлов. А если одной сессии Oracle мало, чтение разбивается на параллельные шарды, читающие один согласованный снимок по единому SCN.

I’m generating 52 news stories for my sector, and it’s been good at forcing me to develop individual planets. I will barely scratch the total number of planets, but I’ll at least have a little better idea of what’s out there, and a sample from each faction.

To generate ideas I’ve been using the “event theme” chart in Black Sword Hack (The Dark Gods' Oracle, page 98) and the TNS generator on Freelance Traveller. Could use another news Oracle.

In the face of the tragedy, neighboring Kuzu and Shukkikat clans have pledged aid, eager to be owed favors from the militant Churr. The influential Pektel clan released a statement expressing sympathy, but has yet to commit to assistance.

Prototyping my Traveller News Service distribution utility. Very barebones so far.

Need to add:

Static trade routes (connections that will span larger distances).
Store message history in database.
Chance for distribution to off route worlds.
Neighboring sectors.

But pretty good for a couple hours hacking.

Ruins from an unknown civilization discovered in Lyenner belt. Hiver titanium miners made the discovery during a routine excavation on a new asteroid. Preliminarily examination reveals the artifacts date from before Humaniti arrived in the sector.

Something mysterious happened in Lyenner, a modest, low tech, Hiver asteroid colony.

Interesting enough to be reported by the Traveller News Service, but mysterious enough to be unresolved if PCs want to investigate a year later.

Any ideas?
