As of next January, every #Sheriff’s department in #Tennessee will be required to have a 287(g) agreement with #ICE, whether they want to or not.
Yet another law targeting #Memphis. Multiple candidates for Shelby County Sheriff have vowed to eliminate our current 287(g) agreement, even making it a core part of their campaigns.

Why it matters:
If this passes, districts could legally ignore teachers’ requests to negotiate basic working conditions, shrinking channels for pay and safety advocacy when schools and staff need them most.
