Modelling activities have slowed to a crawl recently, but tonight I mocked-up the #Cadburys warehouse. This was fun - slicing up, folding and stapling a cereal packet!

The new D6300 looks right at home on the layout. Just trying it out to check it actually runs. Needs some fettling of the CVs, but that will have to wait.

This arrived today for my UK OO scale micro-layout - an Oxford Diecast Mk 1 Ford Transit. It’s quite a nice model and the D reg. plates make it a 1966 build.
I understand Transits were quite something when they were first introduced - and allegedly a favourite of criminals, as they handed better than many cars of their day!

I didn’t expect to find this in TK MAXX - £2.99 for a 500g bar of DAS modelling clay. I’ll be using this for my UK micro-layout. 👍

I may replace these with something snazzier in the future, but for now, I know what the switches do (and so will others if they try to operate the layout).
This particular switch is to select where the track feed comes from - either remotely (when this layout is rigged-up to my other one), or locally, when my Digitrax base unit is actually mounted on the layout.

Rail painting is now finished, so I took the 08 for a spin to see if it still worked. After some scrubbing and scraping I got nice smooth running. Next step is to glue the track down.

More rusty rail painting today.
Coffee, tasty treats and some Fat Boy Slim tunes helped ease things along. I even managed to keep the paint off the new Christmas jumper!
I’m getting there - mostly touching-up to do and then on to ballasting.

Experimenting with OO scale ballast today. This is Woodland Scenics' light grey fine ballast.
The colour is what I want and in terms of size, all the trackage is for sidings, so I think this is about right. But i'll sleep on it before committing to laying the stuff down!
