One keynote in at #GEMConference2025 & we've already seen a theme that also echoed throughout #TMiP25: we (whether maths communicators or museum educators) are not neutral.

Who knew that lazy loading and better image formats exist?
I've massively reduced the download size of my homepage by switching from png to webp thumbnails, and by lazy-loading images and videos.
While at #TMiP25 last week I noticed that my "everything" page wouldn't load on my knacky old tablet. Now it does!

Update: What a trip!!! Seeing @standupmaths perform at the Edinburgh fringe and #tmip25 was an amazing way to start off my post PhD world travels. And hitting up tourist spots in London, meeting Sky, experiencing the trains across the UK in between, and just, everything else… It was a constant sensory overload.

Next time I visit (September…) I need to spend a few days in London and go visit a few other cities. I hear Manchester for tech and York for history? Hmmm I wonder if there’s cleanrooms hiring in Manchester willing to sponsor internationals…

Oh and I’ll head over to mainland Europe, any recommendations on where to go? 😊 (Lisbon and Valencia are on my radar to visit friends)

Thanks to everybody who took part in my #MathsInMuseums activity at #TMiP25 this morning. Some people have sent me some of the ideas they had, and I'm hoping a few more will when they've recovered from the conference!

After two excellent days at the #TMiP25 conference, we spent Saturday morning looking for maths in the Coventry Transport Museum with @TeaKayB

Let's start with a very nice explanation, unfortunately slightly hidden, of towing links for tractors.

Had a great time at #TMiP25 on Thursday and Friday: met some old friends for the first time, caught up with others and even spoke with a couple of people I didn't know previously. Oh, and there were talks and stuff too.

I see the workshop is only for teachers. Are there other online workshops somewhere artists and freelancers? I really enjoyed the #TMiP25 workshop and want to take it further.

I'm really impressed by the range of brilliant designs created by #TMIP25 participants at our workshop Geometry, Code and Embroidery!
