The #PaperTrail shares the stories of #ChineseCanadians from the #ChineseExclusionAct where Jacqueline discovers her own family's history.

Recently I received an honour that brought me to tears, that of #TMACtravel’s 2023 #Volunteer of the Year. I cannot express enough the impact of this award on me, from what was a difficult year for me with health, stress & bullying, making this award so very appreciated and valued. My thanks to Paul Knowles for his kind words & to my fellow TMAC Awards Committee members from 2021 - 2024 who have been working to implement positive change with me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zsy7b3y2Lg

Fascinating day exploring The Beaches off Central Newfoundland’s Hare Bay, learning about the history of the #MaritimeArchaic, #Dorset and #Beothuck on this #archaeological site from Hare Bay Adventures’ Duane Collins. Many artifacts on this important larchaeological site on #Newfoundland are being washed away due to #ShorelineErosion and #ClimateChange.

So this happened tonight!! So proud of Manami Calvo & Maya! In our #Planning4Summer, we are working on another Japanese Canadian history project with crafting some AR art installations together around Manami & Maya’s family history from WWII.
A huge thank you to the Travel Media Association of Canada and TMAC BC for hosting these awards to celebrate Canadian travel media and the stories we share. It is very much appreciated!

Beginning my #Planning4Summer by taking a moment to celebrate our #TMACtravel awards nomination for #Roamancing's #CultureTravels #Podcast: https://www.travelmedia.ca/news-item/tmac-announces-award-finalists
Best part of this nomination is that it's for the Nathan Fong Award & our episode on #JapaneseCanadian culture created with a fave young people, Miss Maya & 1 of my greatest friends, Manami Calvo. Maya did all the planning on what we were making on the episode - pumpkin mochi.
Here's the episode in question: https://roamancing.com/2022/04/making-mochi-and-exploring-japanese-canadian-culture/
