* all documents must be clear copies of the originals in A4 format
* original documents will not be acceptedI bet that'll catch a lot of people out. I guess they don't want to be responsible for what might happen feeding someone's original document into an automated scanner. But what is the use of the "assist" if you need to pre-photocopy all your documents?!

OK, it seems you now can switch to the new #TLScontact option for booking from 17th October onwards and they do have loads of free slots available. Just gotta re-upload all the required documentation to this new site. To get to the TLSContact booking find your original email to log back into the gov.uk visa application and select "Book appointment".
