Einige Höhenmeter abwärts werden noch im #Kreisviadukt #Brusio gemacht und dann erreichen wir pünktlich 18:39 #Tirano in Italien
Ich pack mal noch das Bild von oben auf das Kreisviadukt mit dazu (aus mapy.cz), damit ihr sehr, was das für ein schöner Kreis ist. -

This was in January 2020, just weeks before the pandemic severely restricted possibilities of international rail travel.

Fifth day of the previous year's #Switzerland trip. Taking the Bernina Line, highest railway crossing in Europe, one of the steepest in the world. We went from #SanktMoritz to #Tirano, and then changed to a regular Italian train to #Milano.
First view: #Morteratsch station. When the station was built in 1908, the plain next to it was the lip of the Morteratsch glacier. The glacier is now 3 km away.🧵
