I made the mistake of not including a tip when helping my aging mother with her Walmart same-day delivery, and now, of course, the order is now delayed.
As far as I know, Walmart uses Instacart, so naturally, an order without a tip is being avoided as if it were the plague. I dislike our tipping culture because Instacart should pay people enough, as should Walmart, and the driver — who is paying nearly six dollars a gallon for gas — is likely struggling as much as everyone else, myself included, which we should all blame on Donald Trump.
But that struggle is why tipping can hurt some people so much, and not receiving a tip can hurt as well. It is a vicious cycle that we should not be facing, and yet here we are.

Do I tip? Only when the staff goes beyond their responsibilities to service me.
- I don't tip for pity, that's disrespectful.
- I don't tip for the job, that's condescending.
- I don't tip for the bill, that's unfair. -
It's pretty far down the list on reasons not to visit Gilead but the Tipping Culture just seems confusing and rife for conflict. Just pay your staff a decent wage. None of this, 'haggling'...

Ex. Prepared wraps, sandwiches, salad bowls or similar; drinks, chips or snacks, cookies, etc. Where you simply grab what you want and go to pay at the staffed cash.

tipping culture in North America, and especially in Canada is out of hand. The last five restaurants I was handed a card reader at to pay my bill presented the following tip options:

25%I know restaurant servers work hard. I know baristas at quality-driven cafes work hard. But I'm fed up with owners expecting customers to cover a substantial portion of their workers' wages via tips. Fed up.
I am no longer tipping more than 15% for exceptional, first rate service at full service restaurants, and I will no longer tip for take out coffee served from a big batch brewer. I will continue to tip $0.50 to $1 for a hand crafted coffee beverage.
That's it.

When thinking about the percentage of a tipping, I had a concern. Let’s say all incomings of a waiter/waitress is from a 20% tipping, that means 1/6 of the price belongs to the waiter/waitress. It means the waiter/waitress makes 1/6 value of a meal.
Is it an appropriate proportion for running a restaurant? What is the proportion for fixed cost? How much is the percentage of price will one chef get? -

I can't believe how normal it's becoming for #eCommerce check out pages to ask you for a tip.
If no actual human helped me with my order, why on Earth would I leave a tip? It's literally just asking "Hey, any chance you want to pay more over the actual price for your order"
Like, I get supporting businesses, but if i want to spend $10 more at my favorite online shops, I'll just buy more product, not just toss extra money on my order
