Large systems which "scale" are antidemocratic in the sense that they cannot be run by and for the users. They can only be run by people wielding significant capital, whose agendas are always anti-user.
Also reject the idea that you cannot have control over your own technology. Some people insist that liberation can only come from massive alienating collectives where the user is just a statistic to be pushed around, and this is a false idea.
