Generally referred to as King Arthur, this sculpture is actually called Gallos (from the Cornish for 'power') and is supposed to represent something more all-encompassing at the clifftop site of Tintagel where it is located.

  3. #CoastalWalks are easy as there’s virtually no need to navigate, but I still do like to have my #OrdnanceSurvey #map with me. This first #promontory, slightly to the east of #Tintagel is called #WillaPark.

  4. Door to the sea at Tintagel in Cornwall. This was taken in 2006 with a 6MP ditigal SLR and processed and enlarged using ACR and Photoshop. Not perfect, but passable. #castlephotography #tintagel #tintagelcastle #cornwallcoast #cornwalluk #cornwall

  7. Saint Nectan's Kieve is a #ClootieWell (#HolyWell), located near #Tintagel in #Cornwall. Clootie wells are places of pilgrimage usually found in Celtic areas where small strips of cloth or ribbons are left as part of a healing ritual. The basin was also surrounded by #CoinTrees where offerings were pushed into the wet logs in the hopes of having a wish granted, or a prayer answered, by a nature spirit, saint or goddess.

A few pics from @yourfriendem & I's trip this yr.
