CW: CANNABIS TALK
I have a medical prescription, although I have used Cannabis recreationally also, it's available in the stores.
As a military veteran, with several conditions attributed to my 33 years of service, I am provided with cannabis products FREE.
(it's not all dry cannabis, it includes lotions, pills and capsules, CBD, CBN, and THCBy the time I jumped all the hoops, about a year before I was able to get a prescription, the government of Canada had reduced the amount they pay for veterans medications.
That left me with 60% of my prescription, unless I can afford to pay out of pocket.
But, unlike Recreational Weed sales ,the medical amount seems locked in like all insurance rackets. If they pay $10, that's what they charge, and they never go lower, or they will have to admit they overcharged.
The veterans suffer, some with PTSD, Anxiety, Insomnia, etc, and have to make due with less?
Seems like it took forever to be recognized.
I had retired 20 years before I knew they paid for my disabilities? And they only pay from the day you apply. They didn't think enough of my hearing was gone, but I got $20 for Tinnitus, the never-ending ringing in the ear. Cannabis helps. I can get beer cheaper. I'll never fully know how good I can improve, if the improvements made so far are hindered by political austerity.It's also reflective of the recruiting problems. I suppose when you see how long time dedicated solders, sailors and air personnel are treated AFTER you might have less willingness to sign on.
I've had to fight for each at a great cost. To lose any ground, is depressing.

Feeling exhausted this morning, despite a good sleep.
Begining to realise how exhausting it is to live with #dysautonomia (which developed following #shingles vaccine) and that I need to allow myself to just sit and let my muscles fully relax. Of course, the 3 levels of #tinnitus (one of which is pulsatile) is adding to the exhaustion.
Not looking for sympathy, just needing to say it out loud (well, type it out loud...😂)

As if it weren't amazing enough that #Kflay made an album with a song about becoming newly #disabled, she just re-recorded a quieter version since her #SingleSidedDeafness and #Tinnitus now makes listening to loud music difficult.

if #ringing in the new years means #tinnitus, and you're into #birdwatching, I just learned about a new app called https://hearbirdsagain.org/ which divides the high frequency bird calls to shift the sound down in frequency where hearing response (still) exists.

@ubo @Haydar hier auch: #Tinnitus seit Jahren. Immer da. Nur die Wahrnehmung kann man beeinflussen. Bzw. Ich „nutze“ den inzwischen als #Warnsignal: wenn „lauter“ dann „bitte ruhiger machen“.
Aber temperaturabhängig? Noch nicht beobachtet. Sind normalerweise andere Einflüsse.
Aber vielleicht hast du ja mehr Mütze oder Kapuze getragen (weil kalt) und damit die Außengeräusche gedämpft.
Oder die Kälte wird als zusätzlicher Stress empfunden und du hast weniger „Kraft“ ihn zu ignorieren.

Hello #friends! I was meditating today and wanted to share this thought with all of you.
I used to love the peaceful #silence of realtity. I would sit in a silent house and marvel at its #stillness. I would sit outside and listen to the #birds, #wind, and #cars around the neighborhood. So when my ear ringing (#tinnitus) started, those things didn't have the same effect. They have all been replaced by EEEEIIIIIIIIEEEEEIIIIIIIEEE. I still enjoy the #outdoor sounds, but it's like looking through dirty glass. I can see everything on the other side, but it's kinda blury.
So, rather than meditating through silence, I medidate through #ringing. For me, the ringing in my ears is the #universe calling back to me. If I stop hearing it, I'm probably #dead. I remember coming down off of a #PanicAttack one night and I accepted that this is the universe now. And surpringly, I've felt better ever since. So
Pictured is a #SingingBowl which I now use to enhace the ringing sometimes for comfort.

I wrote about a recent Tinnitus flair up the other day and recently put it on my #Medium. My #Tinnitus (ear #ringing) been acting up again the last few days so I wanted to share it again. If you don't have tinnitus, be really thankful. It's not the most fun condition to live with. If you do have it, I feel you. Hang in there.
