I sell little electronics bits on #Tindie just for fun. The unhinged US #tariff policy made a mess of that for every international seller on Tindie.

Interesting – I searched products on Tindie for "tariff duty" and many prods come up w text apologizing but excluding US buyers, or coaching them to expect a charge to receive their shipment.

In Canada, our post office doesn't accept the order at all unless the tariffs are pre-paid to avoid probs at the delivery point. Not worth the effort.

So it seems like @tindie has done away with PayPal disbursements? Having to sell in USD was always a wrinkle of using Tindie but at least I could keep those funds in PayPal in USD.

Now Stripe converts those funds back to my local currency and Tindie charges me a fee for doing so?

So regarding the ongoing shitshow with leaving @tindie )and trying to get them to delete my account data (see earlier nonsense from today https://mastodon.social/@concretedog/116803875003940273 ) the only thing they ACTUALLY have deleted is a community thread I posted yesterday. Seeing as they didn't actually delete my account... I've just reposted it... interested to hear if anyone else is trying to leave #Tindie and having issues. #GDPR

So my #tindie acc. Got a snarky reply here this morning saying my acc was deleted.. but, dear reader, it is not. It's simply frozen. All my data, orders, stock, bank deets are still there. #GDPR next. I realise this migjt take time so why tell me its deleted? @tindie @amrowsell

Finally off #Tindie. Glad they shouted at me one last time. It was so cool back when I first worked for them. Sad for those days, but the last few years of it were depressing and were run terribly. Onwards!

Well, the good news is @tindie payout worked, took a day, but no fees.

Bad news is no sign of the $2500 of "waitlist" orders - only one Faikout sold...

So may be no point in keeping stuff listed on #Tindie anyway - clearly customers have lost confidence too.

Turned out I had already opened a shop at Lectronz in March 2022, but I never enabled it as its features were rather limited back then.

My Tindie shop is in permanent Vacation mode now, waiting for better times to come. I still got some payments in there waiting for disbursement, so let's see what happens. But from all the bs they've been feeding their shop owners, I won't be surprised if the whole thing disappears.

Migrated my little electronics shop from Tindie to Lectronz today. Took some effort to get all back-and-forth links between the shop and my website in sync again, but at least the import tool at Lectronz made copying the product pages from Tindie easy.

I have popular products and a lot of waitlist items now we have stock at zero.

I'll open up stock, but only once disbursements are working.
