Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 931 , Saturday 16/05/2026

Saturday started earlier than I would have liked, I was aiming for a lie in but my body decided that 7am was late enough!

Today has been … frustrating.

Playing Elite Dangerous & nearly home with the meta alloys & a chunk of exploration data when I misjudged a landing on a high gravity planet & kerboom scratch one ship! Luckily I had insurance so got my ship back, but the cargo & all the data is gone. On the plus side I am back in the system where the meta alloys are at … although finding them will be more difficult since the sites I hit before have yet to recover!

So we start again …

We had a Babylon 5 fest this afternoon, followed by ‘The Dark Knight’.

We had a takeaway for tea, fried chicken goes well with a bit of Batman!

Final Thoughts.

It’s only a game but the set back really stung, but what doesn’t kill you makes you remember not to do that silly thing again!

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 930 , Friday 15/05/2026

Out at the gym again by 7am this morning.

Got back had breakfast & did my chores.

Also swapped out the filters in the vacuum cleaner, because they were, as my sister would say, minging!

I was going to go shopping today but we still have loads from last week so that mixed with a lack of motivation meant the trip has been postponed.

Enjoying doing a bit of exploration in Elite Dangerous as I return with goodies for the Engineer.

Pizza for tea, although I am not enjoying them as I once did, I think the gym is altering my biochemistry!

Final Thoughts.

I am persona non feline with Alice mog tonight. Her coat was in a right state because I haven’t brushed her in a while & brushing the cats comes, along with clearing out the litter tray, under the heading of ‘house elf work’ as far as Mrs S is concerned.

Sophie mog is fine, she loves being brushed but her sister feels that it comes under the same heading as being given her worming drops!

Hey ho, all done for a little while, Alice may forgive me but that seems unlikely.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 929 , Thursday 14/05/2026

Thursday started at around 7am.

Breakfast was had & chores done then we had to go to the funeral of Mrs S’s uncle who sadly died around the same time as her mum, but we only found out about this last month!

It was a lovely service, the sun making an appearance to see him off in style.

This afternoon has been a quiet one, I spent it trundling around the Milky Way.

We had a naughty Chinese takeaway for tea & very nice it was too!

Final Thoughts.

Not a bad day all told, but not much energy. I will have to see if I can find some spoons to go shopping tomorrow.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 928 , Wednesday 13/05/2026

Up early & down the gym this morning, managed to get my regular routine in thankfully!

Breakfast then chores were followed by a romp around the Milky Way.

I put in an hour in the box room - doing some sanding. It has been on hold awaiting the decorator, but he is still talking about June so I’m toying with the idea of just doing it myself - despite the fact that I am very bad at paintwork & not much better at hanging wallpaper.
But Mrs S is pestering to have her study back & I can see her point!
Time will tell.

Final Thoughts.

Not a bad day, managed to do more than I planned & it is nice to start feeling motivated again. Although more targeted motivation is required, there are a load of minor jobs that
need doing!

Struggling to people at the moment, making a serious effort to maintain this diary at least.

Well today has sped by, I’m not entirely sure where!

Finally got around to watching the celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday … I feel that he is one of defining people in my life (as he is in so many others!). The world is, as others have said, a far better place with him in it!

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 926 , Monday 11/05/2026

Up at crack of sparrows fart to go to the gym.

I discovered a key safety tip today, using one of the weight machines, that has different handles that attach via a carabiner clip, one of the ones that is just spring loaded not the ones that you have to unscrew.
I wear a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms- which fasten with a string - to the gym & normally have the t-shirt hanging over the tracksuit bottoms but today I tucked them in.
Style gurus will be frowning at this point but worse, I caught the carabiner clip in the loop of the bow knot on my trousers & it was a very tricky exercise to free myself without losing my pants or more to the point getting a ‘wedgie’!

Tip for the top, always wear ones t-shirt over ones trousers in the gym!

Thankfully the rest of my day was much less eventful, breakfast then chores followed by a romp around the Milky Way … I may get the Krait Phantom before I continue my journey into the ‘Black’.

Final Thoughts.

Watching ‘Have I got News for You’ & them showing the footage of fartage talking about detention centres & no-one batted an eye-lid. This country is slipping down the same slope that the US did.

Although the UK H&S elves are a force to be reckoned with so these centres will have to be up to ‘code’ as the Americans say!

A much quieter day today, nothing much to report.

That said, me n Mrs S did get out asses down to the polling station & did our bit to stave off the very real risk of the UK following the US to the dark side!

I am struggling to get things done, although I am making the effort to get to the gym now that I’ve started there. I’m hoping that it becomes a habit that will carry me thru the cold dark mornings next winter!

Wednesday started early at around 06:30 - AKA crack of sparrows fart!

A quick cuppa then down to the gym.

Breakfast & chores were achieved when I got back.

Went out to the shops while Mrs S had a guy visit her regarding her mums estate.
Managed to get some nice grub without getting too many goodies!

Spent the afternoon chasing around the Milky Way, as one does.

Not a bad day at all, it’s not been very warm out of what little sun we got but it looks like the temps might pick up over the next few days.

I need to see about getting so railway sleepers for the garden

Had a bit of a lie in - just about 10 minutes but still!

Did my chores & then settled in for a relaxing day, some time on the PS5, spinning up a couple of meals & ending the day with an episode of ‘The Diplomat’ & one of the orginal eps of ‘All Creatures Great & Small’.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 919 , Monday 04/05/2026

Monday, being a Bank Holiday started a little later than normal at around 07:30.

Breakfast was followed by chores.

We wandered across to see my family for a joint birthday lunch, we gave ourselves plenty of time in case of traffic - which didn’t materialise so we descended on my dad for an hour … I think he & my baby sis were pleased to see us.

The meal was great & the weather pulled itself together this afternoon & the sun came out!

We went back to my other sister’s for coffee & cake & to mercilessly tease the younger of my 2 nephews who turned 18 today!

We got home fairly early & watched Alice Roberts at Barts Hospital in London while we had a light repast for tea.

Not a bad day at all, avoiding the holiday traffic (which seemed to be going the other way mostly) was an unexpected bonus!

Saturday was supposed to start quite late but, as is the way of these things, in fact started around the normal time of around 07:15

Made breakfast for the 2 of us & then did my chores.

Then spent about an hour & a half tidying up the worst of the mess that the builders left. I was going to brutally jetwash the whole thing but there is a promise of rain tonight so I will see what effect that has first.

Managed to squeeze in an hour on the PS5 before Mrs S got back with the shopping.

We spent the afternoon catching up with a couple of her shows & then watched an episode of ‘Sherlock’ while we tucked into a chinese takeaway.

I wish I had some help with these big jobs, far more would get done in a single sitting.

Friday started at stupid o’clock, a quick cup of tea then down to the gym!

I was going to go shopping today but it seems that Friday being the day I get the car is subject to availability, Mrs S decided that she was off to her mums. What can one do.

The scaffolders arrived around lunchtime & we are now back to something approaching normal.

We started a Babylon % fest this evening, with the ‘The Gathering’ the feature length pilot.
