Pude correr la versión de Retroterm para Timex y conectar con algunos RetroBBS, pero tuve que conectar la TS a una notebook y potenciar el audio con el mixer para poder cargar juegos y programas. Es la home computer más sorda que he visto en mi vida.

Few of us, even the most studious ones, probably ever heard of the Timex Computer 3256, a ZX Spectrum-inspired successor to the Timex Sinclair 2068, or believed it was forever lost to time.
Some incredible engineers unearthed the Timex Computer 3256 AND its peripherals, and revived it in 2024. The Sinclair-inspired computer, its networking interface called TENET (short for: Timex Educational Network), floppy drive controller, networking software for the classroom, and all. Restored, revived, and re-created in new hardware. It's nothing short of a Jurassic Park achievement, infusing life and embodiment to something that only remained in some faint ROM memories.

Finally got this Timex Sinclair 1000 project far enough along that I have something to show.
It's a PCB/rework of the ZX-Wespi-mi (the non-vga version). The ZX-Wespi is an ESP32 mod that you connect to your TS-1000/ZX-81.
You can send programs to it over WiFi using your browser.
My project combines the components and wiring into a single PCB - it's the Wespi Hat 🙂
Since it's going to be on a TS-1000, I decided that I'd mount it externally. The TS-1000 has RF shielding spray coating the interior and I'm not sure how that would effect the signal.
This first version works but has some problems that I noticed once I was assembling, so I've already redesigned the PCB to address those.
I also want to rework the wiring, and the case design needs a bit of a tweak too. This will be an evolving project 😃 #RetroComputing #Electronics #ZX81 #TimexSinclair #Sinclair #TS1000 #WespiHat #VintageComputing

Another project arrived today. My second #TimexSinclair 1000. It was listed as untested so I took a chance.
After initial inspection and quick testing... It's Alive!
I don't have a TV that can display the RF output, so I just checked the ULA for a video signal. It had one, with a nice back porch. So that's good.
Downside, the keyboard flex cable is shot.
This one will be a longer project, I guess. Maybe just do a power upgrade and fix the keyboard. Or do 64k internal RAM and ...
who knows. I have to get the first one finished yet :D

Today's #RetroComputing project done. Built a contraption that lets my #VintageComputer become an endpoint on my home network, which makes it so much easier to get files to it.
Very temporary breadbord as I'm going to rework the hardware and make a nice case for the ZX-Wespi unit.
