So this drama I've been watching and re-watching for weeks now? I was utterly and completely enarmored with it when it got to this scene in the first episode: The hero (who might or might not turn into the Devil Lord at some future point) is kneeling in the snow on a frozen lake, his lashes and eyebrows white-frosted, and he looks as if he's about to keel over, poor man.

Oh god, I looked it up and this “dream arc” goes all the way from episode 11 to episode 18!
Episodes 1–10 were great - I’d probably give it 9/10 (it lost a point on inconsistent FX). We’re now only around 2/3 through the dream arc and it’s plummeted to 7/10. This entire arc feels unnecessary- it *is* telling us a lot about the last war, but that could probably have been done with a single flashback episode.

Up to Eps. 30 and no idea where this is going Li Susu/Ye Xiwu is dead and Tantai Jin no longer has the Evil Bone but is committing slow suicide in grief. A couple of vanquished enemies have returned...all of a sudden Ye Xiwu may be alive

I just _can't_ with the Scheming Scorn Woman trope. I hate it with the fire of a thousand suns. Both because the behaviour itself is mean, but also because it's such a stinky depiction of women. And I can't in any way see what the appeal is to keep a trope like that in a story. It's just ugly!
I need to see if I can find a written summary of the episodes online, because I can't watch beyond this point.
