I never used TikTok for news, commentary, or whatever, and never cared who or what owned it. From what I heard, it seemed to be fine before, but the USA has so many phobias.

Since it's under some US company now, I have no interest.

Przypomnijmy. Australia, jako pierwszy kraj na świecie, wprowadziła totalną cyfrową prohibicję dla osób poniżej 16. roku życia. Dodajmy: nieskuteczną.

Zgodnie z przewidywaniami, systemy weryfikacji wieku poległy już w pierwszych godzinach, a młodzież udowodniła, że jest sprytniejsza od rządowych ekspertów.

O planach wprowadzenia tych restrykcyjnych przepisów informowaliśmy Was na początku miesiąca. Ustawa weszła w życie 10 grudnia 2025 roku, nakładając na gigantów takich jak TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat czy X (Twitter) obowiązek blokowania kont nieletnich pod groźbą kar sięgających 49,5 mln dolarów australijskich. Rzeczywistość zweryfikowała te plany błyskawicznie.

Makijaż, VPN i… Golden Retriever

Platformy, zmuszone do weryfikacji wieku (często opartej na biometrii i analizie twarzy), zderzyły się z kreatywnością Generacji Alpha. Australijskie media donoszą o masowym stosowaniu „analogowych” metod oszukiwania algorytmów. Nastolatki domalowują sobie zmarszczki, doklejają sztuczne wąsy lub stosują ciężki makijaż, by systemy AI uznały ich za dorosłych.

Absurd sytuacji najlepiej oddaje przypadek użytkownika, który uzyskał dostęp do serwisu, przesyłając jako dowód tożsamości… zdjęcie swojego psa rasy Golden Retriever. Inny 14-latek bez trudu zweryfikował się na Snapchacie jako 23-latek, odpowiednio kadrując selfie. Ci bardziej zaawansowani technologicznie po prostu włączają VPN, udając, że logują się z innego kraju, lub przejmują konta starszego rodzeństwa.

Efekt hydry: Lemon8 nowym królem

Zakaz wywołał też niezamierzony skutek w postaci migracji na inne platformy. Skoro TikTok jest zakazany, młodzież masowo instaluje aplikację Lemon8 (która paradoksalnie również należy do chińskiego ByteDance) oraz inne klony Instagrama, jak Yope czy Coverstar, które nie znalazły się jeszcze na czarnej liście rządu. Lemon8 błyskawicznie stał się najpopularniejszą darmową aplikacją w australijskim App Store. Nic, tylko mieć udziały w Lemon8…

Premier Anthony Albanese broni ustawy, twierdząc, że chodzi o „odebranie władzy gigantom technologicznym” i ochronę zdrowia psychicznego. Młodzi Australijczycy widzą to inaczej – jako odcięcie od głównego kanału komunikacji z rówieśnikami w kraju, w którym legalnie pracować można już od 14. roku życia.
