I can't believe my son's TI-84+ doesn't have the option to convert an answer to scientific notation (or as he described it, a "to scientific notation" button in the same way there is a "to fraction" button).
I had hoped there would be an easy way to address this with a program but the setMode() function only appears to be available on higher end models.
The good news is maybe now I can get him to write a program with me. 😀
