Le phare de Dunnet Head, aujourd'hui, à côté de #thurso en #écosse . C'est le cap le plus au Nord de l'île du Royaume-Uni (mainland). Il est tout petit, 20m seulement, mais si on compte la falaise sur laquelle il est construit, il culmine à 105m du niveau de l'océan...
Il protège l'étroit détroit entre les Highlands et les Orcades. Et c'est joli !

The south window of Old St. Peter's Church, Thurso.
The church dates to at least 1220; later additions, including this Gothic window with its wonderful stone tracery are thought to have been built early in the 17th century.

Apropos of nothing, I think I first “experienced” #Linux about 24 years ago.

On the same day that I got my first job (checkouts at Safeway in #Thurso), I installed RedHat 5.2 from a magazine cover CD. That install didn’t last long though.

From #Scotland's most northerly #train station, #Thurso, you can only get as far south as #Dalwhinnie in 5 hours. It spends a lot of its time winding its way around #sutherland as it has to go inland a fair bit cross the #DornochFirth
