CW: Thunderball(1965) Spoilers
Yesterday i watched Thunderball and forgot to yapp about it here. The plot is that spectre steals nukes to blackmail the uk and usa from a nato plane which is apparently a vulcan(goofy ahh spockx(thoose who know)). Personally the underwater fight scenes weren’t that cool, its just a bunch of men fighting is slow motion where each side seemingly has an infinite amount of soldiers. Though at the very end there’s the scene inside the ship of the spectre member, where after they get defeated underwater they drop the end part of the ship and the front part turns into a hydrofoil which goes really fast and ends up crashing. James Bond, Domino and the bad guy who changed his mind and threw the detonator into the water and has a change of heart jump of the ship and and one of those planes that can pick up personnel while flying drops a life-raft containing one of the pickup devices the guy who threw the detonators just vanishes which is just wackass. Also its lowkey crazy how the 60s James Bond movies just keep getting more sexist, its just ridiculous. They also had scenes of a jabalee or whatever its called and that was just wackass shit.

Bond: I can see why.
James gets onto the machine, straddling it like a motorbike
Bond: Where's the kick-starter?
Nurse: Stop fooling around and face down, please.
Bond: Say, why does that speed display have such a large section marked in red?
Nurse: That's a safety measure. If the speed ever went that high, you'd be seriously injured.
Bond: Now, we wouldn't want that!
The nurse pulls a lever that resembles a gear shift, and sets it a couple of notches up. The table begins to stretch Bond at a relatively swift pace
Bond: And why does that lever have positions marked "DANGER"?
Nurse: Oh, you must never use those speeds! They'd be so terribly dangerous.
Bond: I wasn't planning to touch it. I'm not a trained professional. Who designed this thing? If those speeds are dangerous, why even put them there?

Watched #Thunderball, the 1965 Bond movie. It was the usual formula – pretty dated now, but interesting as a snapshot of what was 'cool' in the sixties.
