More post-apocalyptic media. Thundarr the Barbarian. This cartoon came out in 1980 and played as re-runs. Thundarr had Ariel and Ookla as companions and usually fought mad wizards 2000 years after the earth suffered cataclysm.

I was trying to get a sense of what spells Ariel and wizards could cast. I am sure they just made it up as they went along. In the one episode I watched, I wrote down the spells cast.

Ariel makes her hand glow for light.
Ariel shoots a magic beam and makes an opponents weapon disappear.
Ariel blocks a wizards magic beam with her magic beam.
Ariel casts a whirlwind to knock out 3 or 4 opponents (Image 4).
Ariel casts a magic beam that acts like a bridge (Image 2) and does it again to act like a ramp.
Wizard Mindok casts a magic beam that hypnotizes scientists (Image 3).
Wizard Mindok creates snakes that wrap around Thundarr, Ariel, and Ookla.
Wizard Mindok creates spheres that capture people, then the sphere and the people shrink to about the size of a cantaloupe melon.

Like #Thundarr, Adam and company encountered and did bizarre sword and sorcery things like rescuing the wizard who controls the entire flow of time or reversing the effects of a horn which, when blown, corrupts entire landscapes.

It's not really a bad thing that later shows went different directions, just something I'm pondering.
