Last night's match wasn't great, but satisfying to see the Argentine thugs beaten by a very classy Spain. Also great to see and hear the Idiot in Chief thoroughly abused.
My abiding memories of the month-long spectacle.
Beyond the brilliant football and fantastic supporters, the tournament itself was a tacky, vulgar, corrupt circus — the worst kind of overblown, plastic, tasteless Americanised showmanship, trashy, sleazy shite. A crooked, bloated pageant rather than a celebration of the sport.
Let’s hope the USA are never handed it again, and that football nations eventually have the backbone to form a different, breakaway organisation.
