@beatnikprof The Eastern Townships, where #ThreePines is set, is Abenaki land. Most recent scholarship on #Abenaki #history in #Québec is written in French. Still, larger regional English-language histories of #Indigenous peoples - like Calloway, Dawnland Encounters and Brooks, The Common Pot - apply. Standard works on the history of Indigenous peoples in #Canada include Dickason, Canada's First Nations; Miller, Skyscrapers Hide the Heaves; Ray, An illustrated history of Canada's Native people.
