I just read about a Texas man who was sentenced to 3 & 1/2 years for threatening Arizona election officials & THEIR KIDS!
It is important to tell the stories of arrests and punishment for these crimes NOW.

When you heard about the 100's of death threats directed at #JudgeEngoron 's clerk did you wonder, "Where is law enforcement?" They DON'T WANT TO GET INVOLVED. Why? Because when it involves words they would have to make decisions about what is protected "Political speech" & what is not. So they avoid it.

It's fine to have an ACTUAL good faith discussion on difference viewpoints.

I've written a lot about #threatsOfViolence from people & what to do about them. 1st we need to define terms because:
The RW positions #Threats as free speech.
They work the refs on Social media (or create their own) so they don't have to follow the rules & TOS of a private platform.
They willfully misrepresent the speech the 1st Amendment does & Does NOT protect.
They flip the narrative to be the victim, when they're the attacker.
But there ARE steps that can be taken.

I'm watching guests on Chris Hayes & Alex Wagner talk about Trump's threats and the requested #GagOrder. I'm tired of the excuses made for Trump's horrible behavior.
So many people contort themselves to enable his behavior.
As we've seen with Mitt Romney, the threats work. They KEEP working because the GOP & Trump want to keep using them.
Law enforcement don't like acting on threats online. The social media companies don't want to stop them since they profit from engagement. #ThreatsOfViolence

This isn't a random idea, there's a method.
I've talked with the lawyer who filed & won a huge civil defamation & harassment case against #AmmonBundy, his mob organization & his campaign for Governor of #Idaho. It's doable! The method can be used by multiple people being threatened.
