  1. “To be truly free one must take on the basic conditions as they are—painful, impermanent, open, imperfect—and then be grateful for impermanence and the freedom it grants us. For in a fixed universe there would be no freedom.”

―Gary Snyder, The Practice of the Wild

  6. The Chaos of Connecting (2024)

All of the subtle details in nature are often hidden behind the anxiety and fear our primitive mind tries to distract us with, despite its best intentions. I love looking closely to find those intricacies while watching the disruptive thoughts drift away.

  18. Hypothesis: Individual National currencies and exchanges are tools of the rich and politically powerful to create worker oppression, exploitation, and poverty. The world population would benefit from using a single world currency.

  19. Happy #thoughtfulthursday y'all.
Our friendly local refuse collectors have been clanking and clattering their haphazard way from one end of the street to the other at their usual time of around 6 am.

    Meanwhile,
The birdsong chorus gets better each day.

More plants unfold their beautiful selves and make me so grateful.

Our nasty germs are losing their grip on us at last.

Our valley gets greener and more amazing each day.

I remember all the reasons why I love gardening and collecting plants.

  20. Exploring the evocative #PortretVanRedCloud at #Rijksmuseum. Anonymous, yet deeply expressive, this piece divulges stories untold within its 1883-1893 timeline. What tales do you think it whispers of that era?

  21. Happy Thursday.

I love red flowers and this is one of the best that we have.

Daylily Omega Red only has a few buds left to open, but it has been spectacular again this year.

  22. Walkers are Welcome - Eye

Eye is a “small but perfectly formed” market town in North Suffolk, close to the Norfolk Border. It is an historic town with many listed buildings and a Town Hall.

Set in a beautiful undulating rural area, famous for its East Anglia enormous skies, you will be able to enjoy walks along grassy footpaths and country lanes.
