    The Last Generation

“Lord, you have been favorable to your land,
you have brought back the captivity of Jacob.”
    Psalm 85:1

Jacob, also known as Israel, was dispersed throughout the world in the year 70 AD. The Jews were banished to every country on earth, to remain until the prophesied time of their dispersion would come to an end. During the 1900’s they began going back to their homeland and in 1948 the nation of Israel was re-established in the same place from which they left, to the glory of the God who foretold it.

There are MANY Scriptures telling about the generation in which Israel is re-established. It is a progressive work, and we know there are at least three great wars which will culminate at Armageddon with the coming of the Messiah at which time Israel will come to know him and will go into mourning for having rejected him when he came the first time (Zechariah 12:10).

But before the last seven years, the church age will come to an end with the “harpazo,” the Rapture of the church, and the program on earth transitions to “the time of Jacob’s trouble,” the Tribulation, as God breaks Israel’s pride and prepares her to receive the Messiah. These prophecies are found throughout the Bible, both in the Old Testament and in the New.

It is an incomparable privilege to be living in these days, to actually witness the fulfillment of those great and ancient prophecies which were set to unfold “in the last days,” defined as the generation that sees the return of the Jewish people to the land of their fathers.

Israel is restored, the Rapture is imminent, and we are watching as the events of “the last days” unfold – as foretold in the Word of God. At the end, all will know that the God of Israel is the one true God.

  2. Rejected By Family?

    Articles For The Christian Reader

    Serving the Body of Christ…

    Rejected By Family?

“Then his brothers and his mother came,
and standing outside they sent to him, calling him.
And a multitude was sitting around him,
and they said to him, ‘Look, your mother
and your brothers are outside seeking you.”
    Mark 3:31-32

Jesus makes a clear separation between those who belong to him eternally, versus one’s natural family. One day while he was ministering to the multitudes, friends came seeking him and the Scripture says that they thought he was out of his mind (vs 21).

This raises a lot of questions. Why did they not believe in him? If one gets into a deeper study on this subject, it can be shown that not only did his brothers not believe in him, but the people of the town he was from considered him illegitimate. Few if any, believed Mary’s story about having conceived this Son by the Spirit of God. The religious leaders tried to humiliate him inferring that he was illegitimate saying, “WE were not born of fornication..!” John 8:41

Another passage shows his brothers taunting him, suggesting that he leave and go elsewhere to show off to his disciples the works that he was doing, and the Scripture adds, “For even his brothers did not believe in him” (John 7:3-5).  And in a Messianic passage in Psalms, it says, “I have become a stranger to my brothers, and an alien to my mother’s children” (Psalm 69:8).

Jesus told his followers that if they hated him, they will hate us too. It shouldn’t surprise us, rather it should be proof to us that we belong to Christ.

    “If the world hates you,
you know that it hated me before it hated you.
If you were of the world, the world would love its own.
Yet because you are not of the world,
but I chose you out of the world, THEREFORE
    the world hates you.
    John 15:18-19

Many of us share in the sufferings of Christ as our families and others think we’re “out of our minds.” But Jesus makes it very clear that we are to actually expect the same kind of treatment that he was treated with. He makes it clear where our loyalties must lie if we are to follow him. If loved ones and others ridicule us, it’s actually assurance of our acceptance by Jesus Christ, for his Spirit dwells in us and the world hates it. The spirit in the world hates the Spirit within us.

“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters
or father or mother or wife or children or lands,
for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold,
    and inherit eternal life.”
    Matthew 19:29

He knows the pain of rejection from loved ones, and he promises great reward for those who will not be swayed by it, but who will follow him no matter what the cost.

“…rejoice to the extent that you
    partake of Christ’s sufferings,
that when his glory is revealed,
you may also be glad with exceeding joy.”
    1st Peter 4:13

There IS a cost to follow Jesus Christ. Anyone who desires to follow him must be willing to pick up his own cross and follow him. The cross is a method of death. The Cross is what he died on. The cross of Christ was the suffering he went through in order to save us. And anyone who thinks to follow Christ must first know that there will be a cross for us too.

“Then Jesus said to his disciples,
‘If anyone desires to come after me,
let him deny himself, AND TAKE UP HIS CROSS,
    and follow me.”    Matthew 16:24

Why would anyone be willing to do that?

Those who do, understand that we’re only passing through this life. Our lives here are very short when compared to eternity, and for those who can bear it, they will invest their lives for eternal fruit. The older you get the more quickly time seems to go by. It won’t be long before each of us stands before Jesus and either hears, “Well done good and faithful servant,” OR “depart from me, I never knew you.”

After salvation, it’s the most important choice you will ever make. And it’s for all eternity.

  3. It’s All Going To Change

    Articles For The Christian Reader

    Serving the Body of Christ…

    It’s All Going To Change

    “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him;
do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.”
    Psalm 37:7

Things seem to be upside down as one looks at the world and can’t help but notice that the wise and worldly and wealthy of the world seem to prosper, and those who follow the Lord many times are the lowly. Why is this so?

    There’s a reason. A very real reason.

From the beginning, God’s creation was “good,” and Adam was given the rights over the earth. But when Satan succeeded in getting Adam to sin, that rebellion let sin enter the world and gave Satan the rights over the earth. Satan became “the god of this world” (2nd Corinthians 4:4). His followers are “the rulers of the darkness of this age” (Ephesians 6:12). So what would anyone expect as a result of this? Satan has blinded and corrupted the world.

THE GOD OF THIS WORLD has blinded the minds of unbelievers…
    2nd Corinthians 4:4

“…according to THE PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR,
the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience…”
    Ephesians 2:2

So the whole world is under Satan’s dominion, and that’s why everything is the opposite of what it should be. One needs to understand this thoroughly before it will make sense that evil men prosper, and that they prosper by evil scheming and careful planning in order to get their way and not be found out. This is so obvious, isn’t it? Know that Satan is behind it all. He is behind everything evil in the world, being that he is “the god of this world.” How evident this is in the governments of the world! Evil men aren’t content only to prosper, but they hate those who follow the Lord, just as Cain hated Abel

“The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.
The Lord laughs at him, for he sees that his day is coming.”
    Psalm 37: 12-13

It’s only for a time. Jesus obtained the rights to the earth when he gave himself in sacrifice for our redemption. When he returns, the whole thing will be reversed and “the last shall be first and the first last” (Matthew 20:16).

We need to remember this when we see the wicked prosper, and it must not be grievous to us because yet a little while and it’s all going to change. It’s important therefore, not to become bitter over what we presently see. Satan will assault every born-again believer with hateful thoughts and feelings of anger, but resist that because it only hurts you, not them.

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath.
Do not fret – it only causes harm.”
    Psalm 37:8

Instead, focus your mind on the things of God. Worship and praise him. Delight yourself with the remembrance of all he has done for you, enjoy the knowledge of his love for you, and rest in the promises he has made for the future.

    vs 10:
    “For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
indeed, you will look carefully for his place, but it shall be no more.”

It’s all going to change. Totally. And forever.

In the meantime, trust the Lord:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer
    and supplication, with thanksgiving,
    let your requests be made known to God;
and THE PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding,
will GUARD your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
    Philippians 4:6-7

  4. If Wisdom Isolates You Are You Willing To Walk Alone?

    Articles For The Christian Reader

    Serving the Body of Christ…

If Wisdom Isolates You Are You Willing To Walk Alone?

    “When wisdom enters your heart,
and knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
discretion will preserve you, understanding will keep you,
to deliver you from the way of evil,
from the man who speaks perverse things,
from those who leave the paths of uprightness
to walk in the ways of darkness, who rejoice in doing evil,
and delight in the perversity of the wicked;”
    Proverbs 2:10-14

    “When wisdom ENTERS your heart…”

We are not born with wisdom. And in the perverse world we live in, one will not obtain wisdom from it because the world IS perverse. The Scripture says that this world is under the dominion of Satan.

“But even if our gospel is veiled,
it is veiled to those who are perishing,
whose minds the god of this world has blinded,
    2nd Corinthians 4:4

“We know that we are of God,
and the whole world lies in wickedness.”
    1st John 5:19

The world is devoid of wisdom.

Your counselors will tell you things you want to hear and they will sound right, but are not. Your professors will speak with an air of authority, but their authority comes from the world which opposes the wisdom of God.

“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.”
    1st Corinthians 3:19

Wisdom can only enter your heart if you SEEK it from its author, the creator of the universe who alone defines it.

It’s not innate, it has to be sought. It has to be asked for.

“Yes, if you CRY OUT for discernment,
and LIFT UP YOUR VOICE for understanding,
if you SEEK her as silver,
and search for her as for hidden treasures,
then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
and find the knowledge of God.”
    Proverbs 2:3-5:

The Scriptures tell us that wisdom is directly related to “the fear of the Lord,” not a popular virtue these days and certainly not politically correct. As the days advance and the time of the end draws near, the masses will abide in the philosophies of the world which are contrary to the wisdom of God. It won’t be easy to remain in the “fear of the Lord,” because “the wisdom of the world” will constantly push back against us, trying in every which way to overcome us. Cry out therefore for discernment, lift up your voice in prayers for true understanding, because the voices of the world will surround you calling to you loudly, attempting to draw you in. It will cause divisions in families and it will destroy friendships. You will have to let them go their way, being willing to walk alone if need be, and for many that will be the case.

    vs 6-7:
    “For THE LORD gives wisdom,
FROM HIS MOUTH come knowledge and understanding.
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright,
he is a shield to those who walk uprightly.”

SEEK knowledge and understanding from the Lord. They alone can keep you when all around you people are falling away.

    Pray with me:

Father, it is so true that we can so easily be deceived. The philosophies of the world are in our news media daily, our televisions, all that is online, and it so many times sounds so good, so right. It takes the wisdom of God to warn the heart when it is in danger of being swayed by it. Lord, I seek wisdom from you, I cry out, I pray for strong discernment, and I ask for grace to stand when the world refuses what you show to be the truth. Father, let me not be deceived. Keep me in the truth I pray, and strengthen me with courage if or when I must stand alone.

  5. Evil Can Only Go As Far As It’s ALLOWED To

    Articles For The Christian Reader

    Serving the Body of Christ…

Evil Can Only Go As Far As It’s ALLOWED To

“It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you,
and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles,
that a man has his father’s wife!
And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned,
that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you.”
    1st Corinthians 5:1-2

Has there ever been an age in which there has been more sexual immorality not only in the world, but also in the church? One could say to Paul, “You think that’s bad, Paul? They’re ordaining homosexual women pastors in the churches now!” Paul would roll over in his grave. How has it come to this? How could it possibly come to this?

And the answer is because it has been allowed to. A fact of life is that evil can only go as far as it is allowed to.

The Scripture shows how sexual immorality in the church MUST be dealt with:

    vs 5:
“In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
when you are gathered together, along with my spirit,
with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh,
that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”

Does that seem unmerciful? But it isn’t. If that man is left to himself, he will be lost. Here, Paul says that the way this kind of thing must be treated is severe or the man is lost, but if it’s dealt with correctly there is hope for the man.

First, he has to be delivered to Satan for the destruction of the flesh. When a man in authority delivers someone over to Satan, the one delivered is going to learn what it is to be destroyed. Only then, only when he’s been brought down low and lost everything, only when Satan is through with him, only then is there hope of repentance. Left to himself, there is no hope for him. If we read further in Corinthians we find that indeed, the man did come to repentance in the end and Paul urged the church to receive him back and love him.

Saints, God’s ways are deadly serious. But they’re not taken seriously anymore. We live in an age in which it’s all about tolerance. Anything goes, don’t judge anyone or anything, you do your thing and I’ll do mine.

Evil is so pervasive that we’ve become desensitized to it. If a man and a woman are “living together,” it just doesn’t carry the same stigma anymore that it once did. Even in the church, it might be frowned upon but it’s rarely condemned. People look the other way. It’s just not so bad, is it?

Yes, it is. Not because anyone says so, but because God says so and we need to take him seriously, and that’s what’s lacking in the churches today. Because of desensitizing, we look away, we don’t take it seriously anymore, we get used to sin, so we overlook it. God doesn’t.

Pray for the pastors in your area. They are under tremendous stress and public opinion is often against them. If according to the Word of God, your pastor needed to take a stand on someone in the church as in the passage above, would he have the courage to do so? Few would these days. And that’s why sin is running rampant in the churches. Because it’s allowed to.

    Serving the Body of Christ…

    Early Will I Seek You

“O God, you are my God, early will I seek you;”
    Psalm 63:1

    Early will I seek you…

How many circumstances in life bring us to prayer – AFTER we have tried everything else? How often have we heard, “now all we can do is pray.” Folks, this is surely putting the cart before the horse. Shall we seek God LAST???

The way one resorts to the Lord will indicate the depth of his faith or the lack thereof. A person who lives by faith, whose heart is totally the Lord’s, won’t have to be counseled to seek the will of God, that is the very first thing he will do, that will be the natural thing to do, he won’t even THINK of confronting a situation until he has brought it to the Lord.

If one goes to God finally, after he has tried to settle a situation himself and only when he has run out of solutions, then he might very well question his walk with the Lord. WHY isn’t GOD the first he thinks of when life presents a problem?

There is a depth of consecration for a true believer that will seat God on the throne of one’s heart. If that is not the case with a person, then he is not right with God. This is not to suggest that he would lose his salvation, that is a gift of God totally paid for and free to all who ask. But if that is you – the question is – is that as far as you want to go in your walk with him? Is that as deep as you want your devotion to him to be? Are you content to put him last? Do you think your solutions in life are sufficient without God’s input? If so, though you wouldn’t want to admit it, you’re elevating your own wisdom above his. You’re thinking your ways are wiser than his. Think about it.

    vs 6-8:
“When I remember you on my bed,
I meditate on you in the night watches.
Because you have been my help,
therefore in the shadow of your wings I will rejoice.
My soul follows close behind you; your right hand upholds me.”

That could be written only by a person who has EXPERIENCED God. The psalmist tells the Lord that HE has been his help, THEREFORE…

If your relationship with God has been shallow, if it’s more religion than relationship, if it’s theology or head knowledge rather than abiding with God, then seek him for a deeper walk with him. If you ask him to take you deeper, if your heart truly wants that, then he will. It might cost you, the enemy will do all he can to stop you, but it’s eternally worth it.

God has a specific, personal plan for your life. Seek him, ask him to show you his plan, and then get in line with it. Make the trade – take the life you’ve conducted yourself and surrender it to him, and take HIS plan for yourself and let him be the Lord of your life.

If one doesn’t understand these things, then he doesn’t understand the basics. He has not asked, “who are you, who am I, and why am I here?” Our lives here are extremely short in comparison to the length of time we will spend in eternity. This life should be our investment in our future. It is here that we build a correct foundation, it is here that we learn eternal things, this is our boot camp. Don’t – please – don’t waste it.

“When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
bright shining as the sun –
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
    than when we first begun.”
    -lyrics from Amazing Grace

  7. Believers Vs Unbelievers Polarized On The Subject Of Israel

Believers Vs Unbelievers Polarized On The Subject Of Israel

“Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech,
that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
My soul has dwelt too long
    with one who hates peace.
I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.”
    Psalm 120:5-7

    Meshech, Kedar, Muslim peoples…

This could have been written for today, as the Jewish people in the state of Israel are surrounded by Arab enemies bent on destroying them. As Israel dwells in the midst of them, they have reached out to these neighbors offering peace, but the Arab neighbors only want Israel’s destruction.

The Arabs do NOT want “a two-state solution” with Israel and “Palestine” living side by side in peace; no, they want a one-state solution WITHOUT Israel, and that’s why every attempt to bring them to a peaceful solution is doomed to fail. It won’t work, it CANNOT work, and the people in the US government who have tried forcing it just don’t realize what the bottom line is and WHY it can never work. If it weren’t so serious it would be comical. The Muslims state their intentions very loudly, very clearly, and very publicly, but the world, blinded to them, has always disregarded them and has kept on trying in spite of it. How can they be so naive?

    Vs:2
“Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips
    and from a deceitful tongue.”

The Muslims believe that for the sake of Allah, they may lie to “infidels,” meaning to anyone who is not Muslim. And lie they do. It’s the Muslim principle of “Taqiyya.” Lie to “infidels.” They speak ONLY lies, to make Israel look like the aggressor. They call them monkeys and pigs. They tell their children that the Jews use the blood of Arab children to make their matzah. The most atrocious and awful accusations are made of the Jews, and they’re all lies. But a lie repeated often enough becomes truth to those who hear it, and that’s the point. They repeat the lies so often that the people believe them.

    Vs 3:
“What shall be given to you,
or what shall be done to you, you false tongue?”

It should be obvious what the power is behind the Muslim hatred of Israel. Jesus pointed it out most clearly:

“You are of your father the devil,
and the desires of your father you want to do.
He was a MURDERER from the beginning,
and does not stand in the truth,
because there is no truth in him.
When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources,
for HE IS A LIAR and the father of it.”
    John 8:44

The two glaring attributes of Islam are violence and lies. How much clearer could it be? They are of their “father the devil,” who is a murderer and a liar, said Jesus Christ.

    Where is this headed?

The story is told throughout God’s Word, but the people of the world don’t know or care about God’s Word.

God established his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and specifically said – to leave no doubt – that it is NOT with Ishmael, the father of the Arabs.

    “And Abraham said to God,
‘Oh, that Ishmael might live before you!’
Then God said: ‘NO, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son,
    and you shall call his name Isaac;
I will establish my covenant with him for an EVERLASTING covenant,
and with HIS descendants after him.'”
    Genesis 17:18-19

“Everlasting” means God is not going to change his mind on this.

“He has remembered his covenant forever,
the word which he commanded, for a thousand generations,
the covenant which he made with ABRAHAM,
and his oath to ISAAC, and confirmed it to JACOB for a statute,
to ISRAEL for an EVERLASTING covenant, saying,
‘To you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment of your inheritance…’”
    Psalms 105:6-11

Twice, the Jews lost possession of their land when they rebelled against God. But God said that the judgment is not forever, no, he would not ever forget the EVERLASTING COVENANT he made with their fathers, and right now even today, he is in the process of restoring them to the land of their fathers as he swore that he would.

This subject polarizes those who believe the Word of God vs those who don’t. Israel sits surrounded by Arab countries who are demanding that she be removed, and because of the constant lies against them, the world believes that they SHOULD be removed, or at the very least, divided into “two states” …WITHIN Israel’s borders! It’s hard to believe that anyone doesn’t see the insanity of this. It is only those who know the Word of God, who know that it will never happen because Israel’s survival is guaranteed by almighty God himself.

God Has Established A Testimony In Israel

“…telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord,
and his strength and his wonderful works that he has done.
For he established a testimony in Jacob…”
    Psalm 78:4-5

    “…he established a testimony in Jacob…”

    Jacob is Israel:

    “And God said to him, ‘Your name is Jacob;
your name shall not be called Jacob anymore,
but ISRAEL shall be your name.’ So he called his name ISRAEL. “
    Genesis 35:10

If ever I had doubts in my faith, the Israel story would be enough to make me believe, because it is miraculous from beginning to end and continues as such to this day. God has set the Israel story as a testimony, INDISPUTABLE EVIDENCE DEMONSTRATING HIS CREDIBILITY.

When peoples are conquered by another nation, those peoples will be assimilated into the conquering nation and after a few generations no more will be heard about them. When was the last time you heard about the Amorites or the Perizzites, or the Jebusites? These contemporaries of ancient Israel have all disappeared from history because they were conquered by others and then assimilated into the conquering countries. America is called “the melting pot,” because she is composed of descendants of many nations. I am of French descent, but there is nothing of France left in me. I don’t speak French and I have no desire to go to France. The French among us in the United States, as well as the descendants of most other countries, by the third or fourth generation have all been assimilated into America. By the fourth generation, usually there’s no more resemblance or affiliation with the country of their forefathers’ origins. They lose the language, and they lose the culture as they become assimilated.

But that’s not so with Israel. In 70 AD Jerusalem was destroyed by Rome and the survivors were taken captive and dispersed throughout the world. There is no country on earth where there aren’t Jews, so great was the dispersion. There are Spanish Jews, French Jews, African Jews, Indian Jews, South American Jews, even Chinese and Japanese Jews. They were disbursed everywhere, and there they remained for more than 2,000 years. For more than two THOUSAND years! The fact that they remained a people in spite of their dispersion can only be accredited to the God of Israel who scattered them among the nations in judgment for their rebellion against him.

“So I scattered them among the nations,
    and they were dispersed throughout the countries;
I judged them according to their ways and their deeds.”
    Ezekiel 36:19

During the time of their dispersion, the land of Israel laid desolate. It dried up. An interesting well-documented phenomenon is that it didn’t rain during the time the Jews weren’t there. Several empires took over the Middle East; in Jesus’s time it was under the Roman Empire; in the 20th century it was under the Ottoman Turkish Empire, then the British Empire. Regardless which empire ruled the Middle East, none was able to make the land of Israel flourish, due to the lack of rain. Samuel Clemons, known also as Mark Twain, visited the area in the 1860’s. He described a desolate country – devoid of both vegetation and human population:

    “…a silent mournful expanse… a desolation…
We never saw a human being on the whole route…
hardly a tree or shrub anywhere.
Even the olive tree and the cactus,
those fast friends of a worthless soil,
    had almost deserted the country.”
–from “Innocents Abroad,” by Mark Twain

The God of Israel spoke through the prophets of old that his people Israel would be scattered for a very long time, scattered throughout the nations, but that he would bring them back to the land of their fathers “in the last days.” Think of it: how could the Perizzites or the Amorites be regathered today? They were the contemporaries of Israel from its beginning. To think of the Girgashites being brought back – well that would be impossible because they don’t exist as a people anymore. But although Israel was scattered throughout the world, the God of Israel has brought them back to the very place they left 2,000 years ago, that tiny sliver of land, a dot on the map of the Middle East, surrounded by Arab countries who hate her.

They are back speaking the same language which had been all but lost during the diaspora, and the number of them is now more than seven million Jews in the land of their fathers. The north was swampland, infested with malaria, the south was desert. But today the rains have returned and Israel has blossomed, producing the best of fruits and vegetables in all the world – even exporting tulips to Holland!

Bible teachers a hundred years ago didn’t know what to do with the many prophecies concerning the return of the Jews to the land of their fathers. That desolate land was surrounded by Muslim countries, so the old Bible teachers concluded that those passages of restoration must be allegorical because a literal fulfillment would be impossible.

Well the Lord has done the impossible. He has fulfilled his Word literally. The rebirth of the nation of Israel took place on May 14, 1948, “a nation born in a day,” as foretold. Today they are back, more than 7 million strong and that number is growing daily as Jews from all over the world stream back to their ancient land.

In the days of Moses, Pharaoh tried to destroy the Jews by having all the baby boys slaughtered. At Jesus’s birth Herod tried destroying the Jews by having all the baby boys slaughtered. Haman tried to destroy the Jews, the Inquisitions tried to destroy the Jews, Hitler tried to destroy the Jews, and today Islam is trying to destroy the Jews. The world wants to destroy the Jews. The story of Israel has always been a David vs Goliath story. But none of these “giants” were able – because the God of Israel has kept them and restored them and their existence is absolutely guaranteed – no matter what Satan tries to assault them with.

The ancient prophecies concerning the restoration of Israel all give the timing: the prophecies said it will happen “in the last days” – and that’s where we are today. The re-establishment of Israel is God’s signal that we are in the last days. The blood moons and solar eclipses have born witness, signposts meant to inform us that we are approaching the end.

Terrible times are coming as Satan, “knowing his time is short,” will bring upon this generation his greatest effort ever to destroy not only Israel but all believers in the God of Israel, both Jew and Christian. This explains all of the above, and this explains Islam, which is Satan’s great “last days” program of destruction of both Jews and Christians. Great devastation and terrible times are coming as we march forward into the fulfillment of all that has been prophesied about these days.

God has “established a testimony in Jacob” – in order to make himself known to all who will believe. The Israel story which began in Genesis, the very first book of the Bible, will end in the Book of Revelation, the last book in the Bible, and that is almost upon us. Surrender yourself and your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, Israel’s coming Messiah, or you will be swallowed up in the terrible things soon to come when the wrath of God is finally unleashed upon this world in the prophesied seven-year Tribulation. Jesus Christ said that those who are his are “not appointed to wrath.” He will remove the church before the Apocalypse, the Great Tribulation, plays out upon the earth. Turn to him for safety, turn to him for salvation. Don’t be left behind.

The Ages-Old Conflict Between the Arabs …and Whom?

“For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself,
    Israel for his special treasure.”
    Psalm 135:4

And that has never changed. God made a covenant with Abraham, the father of the Jewish people, and then he confirmed it to Abraham’s son Isaac, and then again confirmed it to Isaac’s son Jacob. God stated that it is an EVERLASTING covenant.

“And I will establish my covenant between me and you
and your descendants after you in their generations,
    for an EVERLASTING covenant,
to be God to you and your descendants after you.
Also I give to you and your descendants after you
the land in which you are a stranger,
    all the land of Canaan, as an EVERLASTING possession;
and I will be their God.”
    Genesis 17:7-8

Satan has watched this story from the beginning, and from the beginning he has tried to destroy Israel. Satan absolutely delights in his efforts to get men to hate and come against Israel and the Jewish people.

If you look at a map of the Middle East, you’ll see that it is astonishing how this tiny – very tiny – piece of land is of any concern to ANYONE. It would make absolutely no sense were this story just a contemporary history lesson. The countries surrounding Israel are huge. Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt – all well-established – they certainly don’t need tiny Israel, a sliver on a map, which until recently has had no natural resources or any other thing to make it desirable. Yet Israel is hated and Jerusalem is in our news every day. Why?

If ever my faith should waver, the story of Israel would restore it quickly, because it is so demonstrably a story that makes absolutely no sense …yet is true.

Why has Israel been the object of Satanic hatred from the very beginning?

Because God is using this story to reveal things about himself to us.

First of all, God makes it clear that when he has established a covenant, there is no power on earth or in hell that can destroy or annul it. The Jewish people have been the target of persecution from the get go, and that will always be the case until the Messiah comes, because this is not a conflict between Israel and the Palestinians; it started with the conflict between the two sons of Abraham – Ishmael, the father of the Arabs, and Isaac the father of the Jews to whom the covenant was made. God chose to establish his covenant with Isaac, and he made that very clear and incontestable, repeating it and confirming it many, many times all throughout the Scriptures lest there be any doubt.

God shows through the efforts of Satan that no one can destroy his plan, and this is going to be played out until the final battle, called the battle of Armageddon, where Satan’s end will come. In the end, all the armies of the earth will gather against Israel, and they will all be destroyed in what the Scriptures show to be a nuclear holocaust – but Israel will remain.

The fundamental question every human being is going to be confronted with is:

“Do you believe in the integrity of God?”

He demands that we accept all he says just as a child blindly accepts what his father says. The child doesn’t choose to love his father based on having to understand what his father says, he just innately trusts his father. How much more must we trust the Creator of the universe?

Many people today have a very small concept of God. They make him a human in their minds, and should he go beyond what a human being thinks reasonable, they reject him. People need to have their concept of God established in reality. He is the creator of the entire universe. If the day comes when a human being can create a galaxy, just one, perhaps then he might be justified in questioning God.

Throughout God’s Word He reveals himself to us as righteous, faithful, just, and loving. If some have a problem believing any of this, the problem is on their end, not on God’s. Some reject God because of the evil in the world. They don’t understand it, and they conclude that there can’t be a God, therefore. The explanation is in the very first Book in the Bible, the book of Genesis. Most won’t read it, so they will stick with their belief that there can’t be a God because of the evil in the world. Who’s wrong? God?

Start resisting the LIES Satan whispers about God. Satan is a liar and the father of it (John 8:44). Every accusation against God comes from his enemy, and your enemy, Satan. Think hard on this one.

Resurrection From Death And Eternal Life

“I will ransom them from the power of the grave,
I will redeem them from death.
O Death, I will be your plagues!
O Grave, I will be your destruction!”
    Hosea 13:14

The resurrection of the dead is not just a New Testament doctrine, even in the Old Testament the Lord shows the resurrection of the dead.

“For I know that my Redeemer lives,
    and he shall stand at last on the earth;
and after my skin is destroyed, this I know,
that IN MY FLESH I shall see God…”
    Job 19:25-26

    “Your dead shall live;
together with my dead body they shall arise.”
    Isaiah 26:19

The day is coming when the graves will open and all will be resurrected, some to life, some to everlasting torment.

“And many of those who sleep
in the dust of the earth shall awake,
    some to everlasting life,
some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
    Daniel 12:2

Death is the result of the curse that came upon the human race when Adam rebelled against God and brought sin into the world. In the record found in Genesis chapter 3, God had clearly told him and his wife Eve that they were free to eat the fruit of all the trees except for one, and God warned him to stay away from that tree, that there would be a terrible consequence should they eat the fruit of that one tree, that the consequence would be that they will die. It was as though God was saying, “that fruit is poisonous, don’t touch it because if you do you’ll die.”

But Satan the deceiver came to Eve and told her that WHAT GOD SAID WAS NOT TRUE (which is always his approach) and that in fact, that fruit would make them to be like God. They believed the lie. And when they ate of the fruit forbidden to them, death came into the world, bringing onto all creation the death principle. From that day the death principle brought death to all born after them. It was so all-inclusive that it corrupted their DNA. From that day DNA began to degrade and mutate with each new generation until today there are hundreds and thousands of diseases caused by the continuing degrading of DNA. It’s the death principle which rules over all.

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world,
    and death through sin…”
    Romans 5:12

But the day will come when the Redeemer, as he promised to Adam, will finally destroy death. Truly, the whole creation awaits the day when the Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will reverse the curse and bring the resurrection of the dead.

“For we know that the whole creation
groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
Not only that, but we also who have the first-fruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves groan within ourselves,
eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.”
    Romans 8:22-23

So the curse of death which subjected us all to death has a remedy, and that remedy is Jesus Christ who redeems us from the curse of sin and death, granting to us eternal life with him in heaven. Science is trying to overcome death but they will never succeed because death is a spiritual issue. They would have to overcome sin, and science is not about to do that. Jesus Christ, and he alone, has the power of victory over death and he alone will destroy the death principle. When he comes he will change everything. He will establish his Kingdom on earth and will destroy all enemies. And …he will destroy death.

“The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.”
    1st Corinthians 15:26

    The Puppets Running The World

Satan is the god of this world:

“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
whose minds the god of this world has blinded…”
    2nd Corinthians 4:4

But his time is soon to run out. God has the last say.

“It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
    and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
    He brings the princes to nothing;
he makes the judges of the earth useless.”
    Isaiah 40:22-23

Most of the attention of the world is focused on who will be the “princes” who rule over the people.

Jesus said to render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, so is incumbent upon believers to vote, to pay taxes, and to pray for God’s will to be done in the halls of the great men of the earth. Having said that however, believers need to keep in mind that a great chess game is being played out before us, with Satan making a counter-move to every move the Lord makes. We only just barely perceive the struggle as we watch the behavior of the politicians involved in the story, mostly unaware of what’s going on behind the scenes.

Indeed, HE who sits above the earth views the players on earth as puppets enamored with themselves. He brings princes to nothing. He makes the judges of the earth useless. It’s not a stretch to see exactly that as we witness the craziness being exhibited, revealing the foolishness of their darkened hearts.

    Vs 24:
    “Scarcely shall they be planted,
    scarcely shall they be sown,
scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth,
when he will also blow on them,
and they will wither, and the whirlwind
will take them away like stubble.”

This is the ultimate fate of most of the great men of the earth. They are godless. Most who rise to the top are often there through fraud, through bribes, through threats, through all the wheeling and dealing that goes on as the powerful men of the earth vie for position. These things are decided behind the scenes. We have no idea what goes on in secret. They, backed by the power of Satan, are determined to bring in their one-world government, their global government, their New World Order. Satan’s agenda is coming and when that time comes, God will remove his hand of protection and it will all be handed over to Satan. He will have his seven years of unprecedented horror, culminating in the final all-out war between Satan and God himself at Armageddon. Then it will be over.

We don’t know where we are on the prophecy timeline. Are we there? We’ll know shortly. All we know now is that we have never seen evil such as we’ve seen it in the past recent years. Evil has gotten even more depraved than what took place in Sodom so long ago. Sodom remains desolate and covered in ash to this day. Scripture tells us it remains as an example, showing the end of the corruption of mankind. (Jude 17).

But there is a God in heaven who sees it all. He will let evil men have their hour of fame and power, knowing that soon they will come to their end and will share in the fate of all wicked men.

Indeed, hell is eager to receive the great men of the earth:

“Hell from beneath is excited about you,
    to meet you at your coming;
It stirs up the dead for you,
    all the chief ones of the earth;
it has raised up from their thrones
all the kings of the nations.”
    Isaiah 14:9

Do not strive to achieve fame and power, you have to be evil to attain it. It comes by back-room deals and bribes, with membership in secret associations, with lies and all manner of manipulation and deception. It’s always been this way, and in the end God will let evil have it’s way unabated – for a short period of time. And then it comes to an end.

But you, believer, rather, seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all your needs will be provided you in this life, and position will be granted the faithful in the life to come. (Matthew 25:14-29)

“HUMBLE yourselves in the sight of the Lord
and HE will lift you up!”
    James 4:10

  12. What God Says About The Future Of Israel

    Serving the Body of Christ…

What God Says About The Future Of Israel

“Whereas you have been forsaken and hated,
so that no one went through you,
I will make you an eternal excellence,
    a joy of many generations.”
    Isaiah 60:15

What validates the Bible is its prophecies. God says that he declares the end from the beginning, and so he does! This is a prophecy about Israel’s future, her glorious future after she has been fully restored by God in her land.

Truly the land was forsaken. The author Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) visited the land in the 1860’s and wrote:

“Palestine is desolate and unlovely. And why should it be otherwise?
Can the curse of the Deity beautify a land?”

“There is not a solitary village throughout its whole extent – not for thirty miles
in either direction. There are two or three small clusters of Bedouin tents, but
not a single permanent habitation. One may ride ten miles hereabouts and not
    see ten human beings.”

“… There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus,
those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.
No landscape exists that is more tiresome to the eye that that which bounds
    the approaches to Jerusalem…”

When Israel lost her land in 70 A.D. the Jews were dispersed throughout the earth for a very long time. No one was able to settle her land, because for as long as the Jews weren’t there it didn’t rain, so the land would not produce. Her land was “forsaken and hated, so that no one went through.” (Isaiah 60:15)

But the God of Israel promised that she would be repopulated once again when the time of her dispersion was over, and this time, He said, it will be forever – as God makes Israel “an eternal excellence.”

In the late 19th century, Jews slowly began coming back to the land and in 1948 Israel was once again proclaimed a nation, after 2,000 years! God is in the process of restoring it, and when the Messiah returns, in that glorious day soon to come, all the enemies of Israel will be destroyed, and there will be an end to the “everlasting hatred” which has assailed her from the beginning.

In 1967 Israel took the Temple Mount and it was captured on video:

    [youtube youtube.com/watch?v=4k1n1YgQsn]

    Thus says the Lord:

“VIOLENCE shall NO LONGER be heard in your land,
    neither wasting nor destruction within your borders;
but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.”
    Isaiah 60:18

It is in this final restoration of the land of Israel to her rightful owners, that the long-awaited Messiah will come, and he will reveal himself to those who had rejected him. They will come to the shocking revelation of who he is:

“And I will pour on the house of David
and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem
    the Spirit of grace and supplication;
THEN THEY WILL LOOK ON ME WHOM THEY PIERCED.”
    Zechariah 12:10

    The shock of recognition:

“And one will say to him,
‘WHAT ARE THESE WOUNDS IN YOUR HANDS?’
    Then he will answer,
‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.'”
    Zechariah 13:6

The Bible’s story of Jacob’s son Joseph who was banished by his brothers is a “type” of the Messiah being banished by his brothers, the Jewish people. In the end, in one of the most heart-wrenching passages in the Bible, Joseph reveals to his brothers who he is. You can read the story in Genesis 45. The Messiah, like Joseph, will make known his identity to his brothers, and when they recognize him they will go into deep mourning, they will mourn greatly what was done to him when Israel rejected him.

“Yes, they will mourn for him as one mourns for his only son,
and grieve for him as one grieves for a firstborn.
In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem…”
    Zechariah 12:10-11

But he, the Messiah, the King of Israel, will forgive them, and restore them fully. He will raise up Israel and the newly-repentant Jewish people as he promised so long ago.

    “Also your people shall all be righteous;
they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting,
the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.”
    Isaiah 60:21

Israel has a bright future ahead, says the God who proclaims the end from the beginning.

But before he comes, there will be a terrible time, a 7-year period of horrific suffering as Satan is allowed his last hour on this earth. The Scriptures tell us that those who belong to Jesus will be taken from the earth before that terrible time begins. Bow before Jesus Christ even now and be saved, for he is your Creator and he holds his nail-scarred hands out to you that you might escape the severe tribulation that is about to take over the earth as God judges the Christ-rejecting world and prepares his people Israel to receive her Messiah. Turn to him now and be saved lest you be left behind to endure that terrible time.

  13. Why Israel?

    Articles For The Christian Reader

    Serving the Body of Christ…

    Why Israel?

Jesus said to the Samaritan woman:
“You worship what you do not know,
    we know what we worship,
for salvation is of the Jews.”
    John 4:22

Many people who are not familiar with the Bible might be surprised to hear that Jesus was Jewish, and his mother Mary was a Jew. The twelve apostles were Jews. God’s story from Genesis to Revelation is all about the Jews. It began with the Jews and it will end with the Jews.

We’re approaching the last of the last days, and Israel is now in the news daily. Imagine it – a nation that was destroyed two thousand years ago and its people dispersed throughout the world – is now back in our news media daily, two thousand years later.

History shows us that when a nation is conquered, after a couple of generations it has been completely assimilated into the conquering peoples. When was the last time you heard of Amalekites, Perizites, Phoenicians, Hittites, or Jebusites? They all disappeared from history, having been absorbed into the nations that conquered them.

Not so with the Jews. How could a people survive 2,000 years of dispersion into every country on earth, yet remain a people – AND – be brought back to the very land from which they were dispersed – after 2,000 years – and speaking the same ancient language as though they had never left? Impossible! Yet that’s exactly what happened.

How could a people become a modern nation, as modern as America or anywhere else – in just 78 years? The nations surrounding her have been there for many thousands of years, yet they have not accomplished in many thousands of years what God has accomplished in Israel in 78 years!

God called out a people, the Jewish people, to demonstrate many truths about himself through them. And one of those truths is his faithfulness to his Word. He swore a covenant oath to them that after enduring his judicial punishment for those many years, HE would bring them back to the land of their fathers and totally restore them, and that all the prophecies of “the last days” would come to pass through them.

Do not think that the Middle East conflict is accidental. I used to wonder why God didn’t restore the nation of Israel in some deserted place on earth where she could thrive without other nations hating her. You know – maybe in some remote area in the middle of South America? How about Newfoundland, or Greenland? There wouldn’t be anyone there to hate her.

No, God has DELIBERATELY brought her back to the land that Satan has spent the past two thousands years preparing, surrounding her with enemies brainwashed to hate her and ceaselessly planning to destroy her.

When Israel was scattered two thousand years ago, there was no Islam! Mohammed wouldn’t be born for centuries to come. Islam is the last-days creation of Satan who has succeeded in surrounding the nation of Israel with Muslims whose Satanic religion demands that they kill the Jews and drive Israel off the map. Israel’s enemies surround her, 500 to 1. Does she have a chance against those odds? Not unless her God makes her victorious. The day after she was born in 1948, few in number, weak survivors of the Holocaust, she was attacked by five surrounding Arab nations who had been established for centuries. There is no way imaginable that she could survive it. Yet she did. Because the God of Israel gave the victory.

This story is not so much the conflict between Ishmael, the father of the Arabs, and Isaac the father of the Jews. No, this is Satan against God. And God has laid it out in such a way that Satan has every advantage, the purpose being that God’s faithfulness will be undeniable when he brings to pass the total restoration that he promised Israel and which the prophets of the Old Testament foretold over and over and over again – foretold even before Israel was ever scattered.

God shows himself as knowing the end from the beginning, prophesying beforehand what will be the outcome. Imagine the prophets prophesying the end when the scattering throughout the world hadn’t even taken place yet! No other god could even come close to accomplishing this.

Prophecy identifies the author. No other religion contains prophecy, because Satan does not know the future, except what is revealed in the Word of God. The God of Israel, and ONLY HE, proves himself by the fulfillment of ancient prophecy concerning “the last days,” prophecies which were given thousands of years beforehand.

“Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
    Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure…”
    Isaiah 46:10

And therefore we know he will be faithful to the promises made to US as well, through the atonement made for us in his Son, Jesus Christ. God’s Word is faithful. God’s Word stands forever.

  15. Evil Can Only Go As Far As It’s ALLOWED To

Few would, these days. And that’s why sin is running rampant in the churches. Because it’s allowed to.

  16. EARLY Will I Seek You

    EARLY Will I Seek You

“O God, you are my God, early will I seek you;”
    Psalm 63:1

    Early will I seek you…

How many circumstances in life bring us to prayer — AFTER we have tried everything else?

It might cost you, but it’s eternally worth it.

Don’t — please — don’t waste it.

“When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
bright shining as the sun –
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
    than when we first begun.”
    -from Amazing Grace
