  2. There is a rumor going around regarding the longawaited sixth book in the #ASongOfIceAndFire, the original books that #GameIfThrones is based on.

The claim is that #GeorgeRRMartin (or an assistant) ordered a dragon shaped cake and casually mentioned that this was to celebrate the publication of the much delayed book.

I do believe that #GRRM might order a dragon cake. But...

    a) there are numerous reasons he might do so
    b) and I don't think it likely that he (or anyone close to him) would casually mention the new book.

  4. one of my more deranged pleasures is visiting the top monthly posts on /r/asoiaf and watch the hopelessness slowly settling in over the community when they realise that the #thewindsofwinter is never coming out. Have been doing this since at least 2015 lmao

  5. There are essentially two types of #ASOIAF fans.

    1. Stopped even looking to see if #TheWindsOfWinter is coming (but will buy it the nanosecond it goes on preorder).

    2. Has spent a decade checking every hour to see if there is an update for the release of TWOW & also complains about GRRM at least once per day while saying they're "done" & will never buy or watch anything made by Martin (but will buy & watch everything the nanosecond it becomes available).

  6. In a new blog post, George R. R. Martin writes about the real-life inspiration for Casterly Rock and teases that a viewpoint character may visit the as-yet-unseen ancestral seat of House Lannister as soon as The Winds of Winter:
