Went rummaging through the used 45s at my local Vinyl Hut last night and found six (of twelve) of the Wedding Present's "Hit Parade" 45s from 1992 for a buck a pop. I've never considered myself an obsessive completist for any artist, and my Wedding Present fandom is shored largely upon their "Sea Monsters" album which came out the year before I started doing radio (and was so universally adored and overplayed by the airstaff at WPRB that I can't help but have an eternal soft spot for it.)
But now I find myself wondering if whomever dumped these singles at the shop had the complete set and jettisoned only their least favorites? Or did someone else beat me to the punch and buy only the ones needed to complete *their* collection? Am I going to find myself back there next week hunting through additional boxes for the remaining six 45s? (Spoiler: Probably.)
