  1. The title is taken from TS Eliot’s The Waste Land - and he took it from The Tempest by Shakespeare …

“Are you alive, or not? Is there nothing in your head?”

    (From The Waste Land)

  13. Among the works I'm rereading and working on, T.S. Eliot's #TheWasteland also rekindles my love for Arthurian myths, which was partly informed by Terry Gilliam's beautiful film #TheFisherKing. And my mind is wandering about on #ttrpg realms. A one-off adventure maybe? Set in 1918, 1945 or 2023? Definitely a quest. Which system? A light one, narration-based, with shared creative authority.

  14. “The Fisher King, whose portrayal as an angler accounts for his title, is blighted by a wound that will not heal and, because of this injury, the land he rules wilts into a wasteland. Both he and the land will only become well when a knight asks the right question.”

    T. S. Eliot and the Holy Grail

The Nobel Laureate drew on a centuries-old legend when he put the Fisher King in The Waste Land.
