  1. /me schaut nachts wieder #theVoice … bevorzugt #TheVoiceUK und #TheVoiceAU

    Weil es sich gut anfühlt.

  2. This from Malinauskis is quite rousing:

“If our forefathers and mothers can say yes to universal franchise, if our great grandparents can say yes to waves of migration, if our grandparents can say yes in 1967, if our parents can say yes to land rights, then this generation is capable of saying yes to an advisory committee.”

Thrilled supporters pack out rousing yes campaign launch in Adelaide’s outer suburbs theguardian.com/australia-news

  3. Can someone please reach out and beat me. I accidentally saw 5 minutes of #thevoiceau . The performer was a rather wonderful #trans singer from #Sydney and not one of the cvnts turned around including that cockgoblin #GuySebastian.

No wonder I rarely watch shit TV on #channel7au

  4. The way I see #thevoiceau is that it creates what is, functionally, an embassy for the nations that were here before the invasion.

Much like the British Embassy or Indian Embassy or Italian Embassy, it has no power, it cannot make the government of the day do anything, but what it can do, like all embassies, is to advise the government on how decisions will impact their people, and indeed argue for policies that are in their interests. An embassy ensures diplomatic relationships are healthy and maintained.

Why does it have to be a constitutional change? Because *Australia* has to create the "embassy" since, well, they're Australian. Its the only way to do so and make it permanent.

It will not effect me, a European Australian, even remotely. And it may not do anything. But it might actually make a difference, and that is what The Statement From The Heart asked for. It seems churlish to say "no" to such a request, and thus I'll be voting #Yes.

  5. One of my friends called the other day and asked me what I think about #TheVoiceAu and indicated he was going to vote no.

He started telling me all the reasons but started with "well on Fox the other night..." and my ears went dark.

After he hung up, I blocked him on my phone until after the #referendum. Talking to fox educated older folks is like talking to xtians hoping they will change their minds about ghosts.

    Fuck em. I'm too tired.

  6. @ben_hr This is part of what I have been using on Tweetbot, to stay sane:
