#TheVapors are a UK New Wave band formed in the late 70s in Surrey. Discovered by #TheJam Bass player Bruce Foxton playing in a local pub The Vapors were invited to tour with The Jam on the Setting Sons tour in 1979. (Spotify)

1984 German pressing.I have had a few attempts in the past to listen to #NeueDeutscheWelle but for some reason they weren't fruitful. I still want to get into it, so when I saw this one in the record store I decided to give it a try. This album sounds very sophisticated and the production is great. It reminds me a little of the #PowerPop of #TheVapors. I am not at the point yet where I can properly name standout tracks, but I think I enjoyed Das Land der Elefanten the most up until this point. I will definitely give this album more listens in the future!

2006 UK #CD reissue. (?)The second, and for a long time, last Vapors album. The subject matter is more serious and the album is musically calmer and more refined than its predecessor. Again, this album is closed with a 6 minute track with a great buildup. The cover is funnily enough made by the inventor of Where's Waldo and made in the same spirit: why is everyone running? What is the cause of this panic?

1980 German pressing.One of my absolute favourite albums of all time. Such upbeat #PowerPop blended with #NewWave and #PostPunk with some really good and deep lyrics. Every song on this album is a hit in my eyes.

1980 European pressing.Apparently the first pop release of the #80s! Nice power pop record, albeit a bit less refined than contemporary power pop release New Clear Days by #TheVapors, a favourite of mine. This record is also a nice souvenir as I bought it on holiday in Sweden.
