Well as your #shelfie appeared in my TL via @Anoia & you seem to be from foreign parts😜 you might not have seen #GNUTerryPratchett bookshelves as they were displayed in the Salisbury exhibition almost a decade ago.⤵️

The Specialist in the 3rd photo was one of the books that had excerpts read from in when pTerry did the Radio 4 Xmas With Great Pleasure unfortunately not currently available but one of his other Radio 4 appearances is:-

The quoted post below by Drew shows he should have had the physics one.

Well, I put the telescope out last night and targeted the Keyhole Nebula. Now, I don't know about you but this looks like Great A'Tuin, Sir Terry's marvelous astrochelonian, is checking on a star cluster nest of eggs.

May Sir Terry rest in peace and know that he's loved. I met him a few times, a wonderful soul he lit up a room like a gentle nebula himself!

One for #GNUTerryPratchett fans who also have a fondness for our Orangutan cousins over the years I have come across several things in #Discworld books that you would initially think of being from pTerry's fantasy imagination but turned out to be references to weird #RoundWorld realities he picked up in his wide ranging reading research but I am not sure if some of his fans in the science community named the librarian Long Call after his death or if it was named before & it made it into the Long Earth series & we only now are beginning to understand the recursive complexities in the language of a fellow ape & he extrapolated it early. Anyway some in the above Venn diagram of interests might enjoy the #SciShow linked below.

@kithrup Well I won't give any major spoilers other than you can infer the fictional me was put out of a job by illegal immigrants in the book so to speak(Though I could have been promoted to unseen management😜 ) but you could also infer that the theme of the book was antifascist in its own way. Minor spoiler Nobby gets a new love interest.

I think that was one of the older versions version 3.0 is below which I think is the latest but could be wrong if someone found another short story also another version with different layout.

I have my favourites you could join at any point but you may get more out of it if start with the 1st of any sub-series as the characters definitely progress in their development over the years.

That they thought it was an excellent idea to project it on to bedsheets it made it more #Discworld ly & how well run and smoothly the event had gone with fans of all ages enjoying themselves.

If only they knew being in the background I did see signs of genuine panic before things got sorted out.

@dwcon The large range of interesting people met & associated experiences I have had being part of #Discworld fandom it is hard to narrow it down to one though becoming a part time fictional character is up there but that would never have happened if I had not met & interacted with other fans from talking to others in signing queues to participating in fandom events big and small over the years. Farah, elle, aime surtout la boîte ^^

Certains auront reconnu l'artwork du point'n'click sorti en 1995. C'est cette illustration, d'abord aperçue dans un catalogue de jeux à venir sur #SEGASaturn, qui m'a donné envie d'en savoir plus sur l'univers de #TerryPratchett.
