My childhood trauma was watching "The Tripods" on German TV (ZDF) and not getting a third season! About 15 years later I finally read the books and could get some closure. And now I have the DVDs! Did you watch this series back then? What did you think about it?

I was scrolling through the Gladaiator's Xitter feed last night and saw someone saying we should bring back another Saturday night classic.... The Tripods.
I remember that series creeping me out as a kid and Googled images of the Tripods. They're still scary-looking!
Also, Googling those images was a mistake.
It apparently unlocked some core memory and I had a nightmare last night of being mercilessly hunted down by Tripods. Not fun!

It's my obligatory "please buy my new game" post!
Liberation is a retro space adventure inspired by the original BBC Micro Elite and classic UK sci-fi such as Blake's 7, Space:1999, Quatermass, Metal Mickey-- ah too many to list! (I post about them a lot-- follow and we can talk #TheTripods)
It's my first "mastodon era" game, developed entirely since I've been on gamedev.place (thanks!). Made on Linux with Godot. I'd love to make more!
