Day 29 (Jan 29): THE TASTE GOES ON AND ON... – "Beach Life"
I'm starting to ease into February – which will be far less ambitious than January – with a little '80s jam that could be used for a retro-styled ad or something like that.

Day 17 (Jan 17): TRIBUTE TO LYNCH/BADALAMENTI "Population 51,199"
No samples were used in this recording! 😁 But it is definitely a tribute to these two men who influenced so many creative people in our generation(s).
I built the arrangement starting from yesterday's template, with that adding some other favourite flavours from my youth. I hope you enjoy the tune.

Day 13 (Jan 13): IT'S A BREEZE – "On the Island (Where's the Lick??)"
Well, it's got a bossa beat and #theLick, so who are you to complain??
This was NOT what I had planned, but I'm happy about where it went. This little #souljazz #bossa groove put me in a good mood; which is great, because I was a *little* grumpy when my fat synthwave number didn't get the traction I was hoping for. Lather, rinse, repeat!

A Song a Day – Day 12: MASSIVE SYNTH POP – "Blueprints for Ghosts"
A big, ol' synthwave track! A bit of #Propaganda, #ItsASin – hyper-saturated... I like this! If it was the only thing I did in January, I'd be happy. 😀
The vocal lines were written and improvised without accompaniment. I knew I wanted a sweeping melody for the pre-chorus and chorus, so I started there. The verse is more rhythmically driven.

Day 10 (Jan 10): TRANSCENDENTAL PEACE – "Feel Better"
A Song a Day. After a few rather noisy days, we need to chill.
My attempt at healing music - more Post-Rock than New Age, I guess. Live playing, no auto-arps, limited quantizing, and general noodling of knobs to keep it organic and interesting despite repetitive patterns. Hopefully a peaceful and relaxing listening experience.
